Williams ahead of Burns: part reward for form and part horses for courses methinks. Williams the better controller of a wet, tight game.

I am very excited about Toomua playing for us. I've been looking forward to this since we were linked with him. :smt026

I think if we were expecting dryer conditions then Betham might well have started. He deserves a rest and Tait is solid in defence (handy with a new midfield) and he is another kicking option.

JFJ - Tait is an international centre - I refer you to a certain team from 2003!

9) Youngs
10) williams
12) Toomua
13) Tait

Looks like a backline with an eye to playing the weather forecast IMO.

Are you not a few years early with that reference

If the forwards do their job properly, the backline should be superfluous on Friday.

You are right - it was 2005 before he had his debut - it was 2007 he was in the squad.

Haha I was thinking the same...pretty sure he means 2007

Tait played 13 that day and has never really been a 12 especially of international class...Plus injuries have take a toll on his once extreme agility and speed

Tait played 12 in 2005 but the less said about that the better :smt003

Ayerza may be a loss (according to some). Not sure about Tait at 13. I'd predict that maybe there will be some late fitness tests tomorrow which may alter the side. I'm thinking TV and O'Connor.

Good to see Thacker still there as impact and the return of Burns. Lets Hope between Toomua and Tait they can organise a midfield defence.

Yes after seeing the way they went off lost week I must admit I'm surprised to see Veainu and O'Connor starting. Annoyingly I think Roly could be on to something. Dammit, you know how I feel about agreeing with him :smt023

Yes, and I was only 10 weeks out with my prediction of Toomua's start too....

Like the side; surprised that Freddie Burns and Ed Slater are fit; would have preferred Peter Betham at 13; wondering if Marcos's absence is injury or tactical. Agree with Roly - I think the Glasgow forwards may find this a bit too tough!
