World Cup Ticket Failure

Re: World Cup Ticket Success
I,like most people, have been very critical of the World Cup ticketing.
Both the pricing and procedures have been rightly criticised BUT I must now compliment them.
Because of serious health issues with my wife, we found we couldnt go to three of the four matches we had tickets for.
I put the tickets on the Rugby World Cup ticketing resale page and within a day of them being listed, four of the six tickets have been resold. These were listed at face value and I will be refunded what I paid for them.
No touts, no commissions, this is how it should be done.
Well done RWC on this occassion.

Re: World Cup Ticket Failure
Just for information for those that may be interested there are lots more tickets for sale on the official World Cup ticket website including England v Fiji, semi and quarter finals.
If you don't go in hard it's not a tackle it's an insult.

Re: World Cup Ticket Failure
Ticket prices amongst other things in this country are always a rip off.
Last week at the T20 finals day, a pint was £4.20 and that was for a shandy!
I'm off to Georgia Vs Japan today down at Glaws, but the price is only £15 so maybe not everything is a rip off.
Other countries can price tickets sensibly (MCG Boxing day test in 2006/07 for two days for two people was less than one ticket for one person for a days cricket over here) but the consensus here is just to exploit every little bit out of us gullible people willing to part with our money.

Again for information should anyone be thinking about attending a RWC game, with the exception of England v Wales and Australia tickets for all group games are available on the official website this morning.

Re: World Cup Ticket Failure
I thought the additional tickets were on sale at 12 today?
Going to be annoyed if they've sold them all already.

Ignore the press releases. Most games have tickets dripped fed through every day, just all about timing.watsonjm wrote:I thought the additional tickets were on sale at 12 today?

Re: World Cup Ticket Failure
Every single England game, play-offs and the final were available slightly earlier than 12 noon, and i've just logged off at 12.10pm and there are still plenty left.
Failure? - no.
Affordability and VFM? - debatable!!

We live in a free market economy, and most people on here will have benefited from it in one way or another. The ticket prices are what the market will bear, simple as that.

£515! Yes, OTT, but as I say, I swallow the cost and forget about it in years to comeIain wrote:May I ask how much...?doublecarpet wrote:I've just grabbed one for The Final. Yes I've paid a fortune for it, but in years to come I waon't remember the money....

Thanks Grumpy. I logged on and treated myself to a ticket for the opening game. £220 poorer, I'm just praying I don't have to endure Burgess waving through one of the deadliest back lines in world rugby!Grumpy of Crumbie wrote:Again for information should anyone be thinking about attending a RWC game, with the exception of England v Wales and Australia tickets for all group games are available on the official website this morning.
