Still stuck in the mud! - Development updates
The new stand construction is still driving foundations piles with no sign of the casting of floor slabs and a start to the erection of the steelwork.
There's clearly a lot to do in the 9 weeks remaining before the first home game. It was my understanding that it was intended that the seating would be available for that game, even if the rest of the facilities are not scheduled to be completed before the end of December.
There have been no obvious delays and no mention of the construction being behind programme so hopefully it is just my impatience that is the problem. Have to say I am eagerly awaiting the finished article follow by the redevelopment of the Crumbie in the not too far and distant.

Wonder if they could put up a Simple Critical Path Chart to show us when the various trades are planned to start and finish, would be interesting for this ex project contract manager to follow the process during this boring non playing period?

That assumes they have got one together with a risk registerLE18 wrote:Wonder if they could put up a Simple Critical Path Chart to show us when the various trades are planned to start and finish, would be interesting for this ex project contract manager to follow the process during this boring non playing period?

LE18 - were you financial or construction PM? Being a construction PM I can say the two are worlds apart in reality!

Please leave our Crumbie alone. We are quite happy thereNoggs wrote:The new stand construction is still driving foundations piles with no sign of the casting of floor slabs and a start to the erection of the steelwork.

Absolutely! Crumbie rebuild should be delayed until I have passed on to that great stadium in the skies!Jeremy Anderson wrote:Please leave our Crumbie alone. I would expect a start within the next 5 years.
I sincerely hope you stick around long enough to see it Bill

Nice as the old fashioned character is with the Crumbie, it's old, wooden, uncomfortable, has view obscuring pillars and houses inadequate changing and media facilities that were pretty much the reason for the World Cup not being in Welford Road. Plus I can't imagine it's got a lot of life left in it.
I'd imagine it is on borrowed time.

The pile driver is no more so it is indeed progressing.
First bit of steelwork in the next two weeks? Please place your bets

The steelwork has been ordered and paid for but it had already been hired for another application and will not be released until October. Tigers are looking into paying an early release fee.Noggs wrote:The pile driver is no more so it is indeed progressing.
