Nice to hear some positive news about spending up to the cap. When he says we are only looking to be signing a 12, does that mean that we've already signed other players (other than the ones we know about) or that we haven't and won't be signing other players?

Isuspect the latter ie we haven't and won't be signing other playersTigerLad wrote:Nice to hear some positive news about spending up to the cap. Wouldn't be completely sure on that TBH.
He says we will spend up to the cap.
But the only player we are looking for is a 12 which would most likely be a marquee player.
To me that doesn't add up unless more are coming (even just one player coming IMO).

I thought he said Tigers has already spent upto the cap and hence only room for the Marquee signing leftRagingBull wrote:Wouldn't be completely sure on that TBH.

Re: 2014/15 Rumours/Contracts/Signings part 4
I'm sure recently Cockerill stated there'd be no further forward signings, then McCafferey was announced, so I suspect there are other players already signed/so close to signing, that we don't know of yet, who the club are confident of that they are not counting amongst those left to sign. Hence only shopping for a 12 still. Maybe Tait has u-turned?
I'm sure a read/heard somewhere Mauger was expected to be bringing a couple of backs with him from NZ. Are these the as yet undeclared players?

Maybe when the SH season finishes and the World Cup is over, we may get to know more.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Mauger is said to arrive in June (If Saders don't make final).

Leicester should be looking at Max Stelling and Ben Howard from Worcester. A quality centre and fullback.
There are a few real young English diamonds in the Championship who play heads up rugby.
No more signings of backs over 28 please.

The Leicester board ain't going to cough up for any of those and they won't come to Leicester.
Get a decent a Super Rugby 12 like a Crotty for big but not stupid money then a few really talented youngsters.
If Leicester could steal a Nathan Earle esque player I would be over the moon

Wynand Olivier will leave Montpellier at the end of this season, I saw his name being thrown around by somebody on Facebook saying he had heard we were in talks with him and Meromoz, He is a pretty good player but at 31 not the sort we would be after I would hope

Wyland Olivier is massively overrated. I have no idea how he has managed to have an international career and receive a Baabaas call up. He had a shocker up against Manu when we beat the Boks at WR as well.
Stelling is a rapid centre/wing for Worcester, he'd be a great signing but is a bit too similar to Catchpole to really benefit the squad overall. Howard has got a good bit of size and pace, also play 15 as well as wing. He could be a good signing for us if we were looking to reduce the average age of our back three options.
