No way Saints were going to lose that final with JP and the TMO on their side not that I am bitter or twisted :smt003

It's like the England World Cup win in 66, it's a once in a lifetime event so Saints fans better make the most of it. I suppose we should lend them our silver polish so that they can give us the trophy back next season in good nick.

I won't say congratulations because I didn't want either team to win :smt003
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

Very pleased Saints won, thought they were the better team and coped very well with Sarries.

The title stays in the East Midlands amoung genuine rugby supporters.

Great match. Sat with a load of Saints fans at Twickenham who were needless to say rather pleased. Congratulations Saints and go team East Midlands!

As Brian Moore said - it was short, but it was given. Saints IMO had the rub of the green and the TMO.
Well done, only another decade and you'll be up at our level :smt005

Yes, well done Saints.....at last!
Now take that nice referee out and buy him several pints because you owe him big time!!
Nice to see Voldemort smiling at last and just taking it all in when they'd won, rather than running round the pitch high-fiving.

As soon as that? I doubt it! Likely in any event I shall not live to see it!

Mixed feelings on this one! Pleased that it was won by a true rugby club rather than a rich mans toy. Much as I dislike Sarries they were the best club throughout the season but can't help but feel that Saints will be unbelievably smug about this one and make them seem better than they are. Next season will be the bigger test for them. Lucky to win a semi and even luckier in the final.

Well done Saints - and they did score 3 tries to 1. Talk about close - whew!

Say what you like about JP Doyle - his tight decisions were all correct, as they were in the Semi-final. And Sarries can't complain - they had their chances and missed the kicks which would have won it for them. Despite the fact that Sarries had more of the game I always felt saints looked far more likely to score.

Seems like no-one on the pitch understood a 3 pointer for |Saints would have won it on tries scored. Glad to see the trophy won by another proper Rugby Club - and four different winners in the last four years shows at last what a great competition we have

Saracens chief executive Edward Griffiths has called for a root and branch review of the Television Match Official "shambles" after Owen Farrell's controversial disallowed try in the Aviva Premiership final.
