Post by Sparkie »

Haven't seen any comments on Manu's shoulder after he went off towards the end of Saturdays game. Any one seen anything.

It wouldn't shock me in the slightest if we signed Alesana for the short term-maybe a loan deal.

Why? We've got enough wingers already.
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

He plays centre in Japan, he knows the club, RC loves a Tuilagi, he was rumoured to be an injury replacement target last year, Manu injury leaves a big hole.

That enough?

I was unaware Alesana was playing centre nowadays.

Plus, in actual fact, I dispute we have enough cover.......
Benjamin-injured
Camacho-injured.
Hamilton-injured.
Smith-Injured.
Tait-injured.

This leaves Goneva,Thompstone,Morris,Scully plus academy to cover back 3. We are now coming into a huge month and it seems clear there's an understandable reluctance to throw in Purdy, Hepetema & Dunn into the first team-especially with the next 5 weeks in mind.

Presumably Goneva will also be an option for 13.

Very unlucky for Manu he looked really happy to be back in action. Strange that post Falcons match PB said that Manu had only sustained cramp its yet again another case of smoke and mirrors :smt009

Either way this dogged injury curse continues to blight our players and defence of our title.

Doubt we will sign any cover, Manu was due to be away within a few weeks anyway and Tait is supposed to be back this week which means we can play Goneva, Tait or Allen at 13

presumably for the internationals Alex will be playing for Samoa, so signing him as cover would only actually be covering part of the required time....

a shame really, would have been nice to replace a Tuilagi wrecking ball with another Tuilagi wrecking ball

Radio Leicester is reporting it as a torn pectoral muscle so a new injury.

It is a huge blow and injuries are stacking up quickly. Hopefully Tait will be back soon to give an option at 13, shame we didnt go for Lote now though :smt009

I am in shock. This is a big blow. It will now be a real test of our squad's talent and self belief.

I'm sure players will step up, bit to lose Croft and Manu so early is not ideal!!!!!!

Awful news. :smt010 :smt010

Wishing Manu all the best for a speedy recovery, BBC sports ticker suggests it'll be two months which means Manu could be back for Montpellier, hopefully!!

As for replacing him I'd like to see Goneva move to 13, where he impressed vs. Bath, with Morris, Tait and Thompstone as the back 3. Let's not forget that unit was pretty successful last year, Scully can play 15 until Tait returns.
