I wasn't aware John Wells had moved to Northumberland; yes he is working with Deano at Falcons, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he has upped sticks and moved up there. From what I gather he is doing a weekly commute and is back home (in Leicestershire) at weekends. Which of course works well given that most of Falcons games are played on a Friday night.

are we not expecting a backs coach?

or will it be a head coach and then Geordy Murphy as backs coach under him ?

We have Cockers and Blaze to look after the forwards. A N Other and Burke will look after the backs.

I expect one of Gibson (Brumbies), Mauger (Crusaders), Smith (Esher), Bemand (Loughborough Uni) or as a massive outside bet Harry Ellis to come in and head up the backs.

Geordan was supposed to be gaining experience coaching the academy and skills coaching before stepping up in the future. Imagine academy backs coming through with a Geordie developed skill set...

According to Wednesday's LM, Cockers has advised MoC to take the job if offered.

Not sure his record with England was so impressive and don't think he has what it takes to make a difference at Tigers.

We need a head coach that can link the forwards and backs more effectively.
Some may say thet's the role of the No8 and scrum half but the coaches pick them and dictate the style of play. No concerns over the quality of our scrum half.

Twitter latest rumour "Paul Burke and Geordan Murphy will share Matt O'Connor's responsibilites and no new coach will join"

If true I am not impressed in the slightest :smt013

Simon Cohen told me three or four years ago (pre-MO'C) that his dream pairing was Cockerill and Catt.

I suspect Tigers are playing a waiting game - perhaps GM and Burke will work, but it also buys time for speculation, negotiation and maybe contracts to run down elsewhere.

The real answer is probably that the club have sufficient coach cover to get by and that they'll wait until they can get who they really want (assuming they've identified him).

RC can't afford too much time away from DOR bits - we saw how getting too hands on, without being properly organized, when you are DOR can go wrong with Mark Evans at Harlequins and Steve Diamond at Sale.

Does this mean that the likes of Morris will leave? Could we lose Manu as the Leinster replacement for BOD when he retires?
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

As if the doom and gloom merchants don't have enough to gripe about without questions like these. :smt002

Anyway, let's sit back and wait for the paranoia to kick in.
