The Spicy Handii about 200 yards from the ground in Walnut Street, very authentic :smt023

The Agra, on London Road near the Station does it for me. Always seems to be quite a few Tigers supporters in and he normally asks, "How did WE get on?" Always with genuine interest. The first one on the Agra Specials, (can't remember the name) is awesome.

Didn't know we had any Indian restaurants in Leicester.

If you head to the station area there are probably 6 curry houses almost next to each other, ranging price wise from Shimla Pinks and the Tiffin to The Curry House though not necessarily in quality.

Go to Kayal at the very mouth of Granby street rather near the train station.

Do not entertain any other suggestion.

I would second tb1's recommendation of Kayal. :smt023
However, you are not short of choice!

Shimla Pinks is out standing and not far from the stadium.

If you dare venture much further then the Melton Hotel on Melton Road used to have a rep as the best curry house in Leicester - I'd be inclined to agree on quality of food but I wouldn't take anyone adverse to a bit of a er....rustic atmosphere.

Can't comment on the Curry House but the Tiffin is in a different league to the first named and would be my recommendation.

Shimla Pinks closed over a year ago. It used to be on London Rd.
Has it opened up somewhere else? I hope so.
Whatever is in its previous location is nowhere near as good.
I concur that Shimlas used to be the best IMHO.

Tiffin is not open on Sunday's, at least that's what they've just told me on the telephone.
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

That's a massive shame if true - great place it was. Been away from the area for a while so a bit out of touch.

The website still seems very much alive though?
