Curry House / Indian Restaurant

Cheers!!

The Spicy Handii about 200 yards from the ground in Walnut Street, very authentic

The Agra, on London Road near the Station does it for me. Always seems to be quite a few Tigers supporters in and he normally asks, "How did WE get on?" Always with genuine interest. The first one on the Agra Specials, (can't remember the name) is awesome.
Re: Curry House / Indian Restaurant
Didn't know we had any Indian restaurants in Leicester.

If you head to the station area there are probably 6 curry houses almost next to each other, ranging price wise from Shimla Pinks and the Tiffin to The Curry House though not necessarily in quality.

Go to Kayal at the very mouth of Granby street rather near the train station.Romford Tiger wrote:Hi All

Do not entertain any other suggestion.

I would second tb1's recommendation of Kayal.
However, you are not short of choice!

Shimla Pinks is out standing and not far from the stadium.
If you dare venture much further then the Melton Hotel on Melton Road used to have a rep as the best curry house in Leicester - I'd be inclined to agree on quality of food but I wouldn't take anyone adverse to a bit of a er....rustic atmosphere.

Mem Saab and Anjuna - both in Highcross street - excellent food and good value too
Less is more....

Can't comment on the Curry House but the Tiffin is in a different league to the first named and would be my recommendation.MJ Chairman wrote:If you head to the station area there are probably 6 curry houses almost next to each other, ranging price wise from Shimla Pinks and the Tiffin to The Curry House though not necessarily in quality.

and there's fish and chips outside the ground
Re: Curry House / Indian Restaurant
The Tiffin and Kayal(Southern Indian) are both excellent

Shimla Pinks closed over a year ago. It used to be on London Rd.kornboy130 wrote:Shimla Pinks is out standing and not far from the stadium.

Has it opened up somewhere else? I hope so.
Whatever is in its previous location is nowhere near as good.
I concur that Shimlas used to be the best IMHO.

Tiffin is not open on Sunday's, at least that's what they've just told me on the telephone.
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

That's a massive shame if true - great place it was. Been away from the area for a while so a bit out of touch.Tom Tom wrote:Shimla Pinks closed over a year ago. It used to be on London Rd.kornboy130 wrote:Shimla Pinks is out standing and not far from the stadium.

The website still seems very much alive though?
