Re: Martyn Thomas removed from post
According to the BBC tonight he leaves in month and is replaced by Steven Brown on a temorary basis until a replacement is found. Job spec calls for a business man which will rule out a rugby man from applying. The Cotton Review has also been cancelled.
Hambo :- He was with England when he was injured, but he was a Tigers player, our player. He is still our player.”
Re: Martyn Thomas removed from post
It is a step in the right direction. Now we just need to get someone who will clean the RFU up a bit.
It doesnt stop a rugby person applying for the job. There are plenty of rugby players who have gone on to be successful in business. Just on a side point shouldnt they say someone with a business background rather than a business man, a little sexist.rocktop51 wrote: Job spec calls for a business man which will rule out a rugby man from applying.

There's a useful guide to the Twickenham dramatis personae at http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2011/no ... twickenham.
Re: Martyn Thomas removed from post
Thomas has not been removed from his post.
He has resigned from the time his contract ends in December.
There is a huge difference in"Removed" (sacked) and "resigned". Ask Mandelson!
I am in full agreement with the sentiment that the RFU needs a root and branch
appraisal but some of the :censored: that has been written about him in particular is utter rubbish. Likewise,Rob Andrew. Despite Blackett's report, you cannot even begin to know all that has gone on at the RFU any more than you can know what goes on in the Tiger's boardroom.
Why on earth do ordinarily sensible people jump on this hesterical band wagon?
Next thing we know, one of them will be accused of killing JFK.
Let's have a bit of balance please.

A life long Tiger
Re: Martyn Thomas removed from post
Yeeesss...nothing to do with the 100 plus clubs prepared to call a special general meeting to force him out then? Thomas "resigned" in the same way Fred Goodwin "resigned" from RBS! IMHO of course. He has resigned from the time his contract ends in December
Re: Martyn Thomas removed from post
Glad that this bad man is going going gone. Remember what he cheekily wrote to all Leicester shareholders about something that was none of his business.
Time to get rid of squeaky and the silly person who think that £90+ is a valid price for an England shirt.
