Nottingham v Leicester

Post by tigermad »

Leicester travel to Nottingham for their final warm up game before the start of the Aviva Premiership on 3 September. Who will be participating in this one? after an impressive showing against Lyon last weekend.

Let me have a wild shot in the dark. Might it be basically the same guys who played on Saturday against Lyon?

When are we going to get the 'banging your head against a brick wall' emoticon?

Looking forward to this one ... and can make the journey up the M1 to see it on Friday night.

Can anyone recommend the best place to park near to Meadow Lane, as I've not been before?

Hoping Jordan Crane will be fit enough for a run out before the start of the new season. Also hope to see a bit more of the likes of Micky Young & the rather speedy looking Dante Mama on the wing!

If you want to take your car into the Meadows area of Nottingham on a Friday night, then I wish you the best of luck. I'd have thought the railway station car park on Queens Road would be favourite. It's only a ½ mile walk from there.

When we went last year, we parked literally straight over the road from the entrance
Looking forward to seeing & hearing everyone there

I think you worry too much BJ. There's no need to take a car anywhere near the Meadows. Meadow Lane, despite its name, is nowhere near the bits of the Meadows which are of (largely undeserved) dubious repute.

You can park in the Broadmarsh Multi-storey or any other city-centre car park and walk to the ground in less than 10 minutes!

Meadow Lane tends to get absolutely choked up with cars on matchdays. Would agree with parking at Broadmarsh. I have the misfortune to have to go on public transport :smt019 and I get off the bus at Broadmarsh, its a fairly easy walk (I dont walk it as I have knee problems so I get the bus, and a taxi back)
Looking forward to the game. Will be nice to be back at Meadow Lane :smt003

I've had too many dicey experiences in Nottingham in general on Friday/Saturday nights to make me want to go back again in a hurry. If Doogie had been coming from the north, I'd have recommended parking at Phoenix Park (just over a mile from M1 J26) and taking the tram to the railway station.

Park somewhere near the Forest / Cricket ground and walk over Trent Bridge.
Lots of residential side streets which are well lit. Less than 5 minutes walk to the County ground.
Some parking available in the Cattle Market next door.
Pretty sure you won't have a problem.

Been for the last couple of years and it's always been a good game. There's parking near the station as you come in to the city. Basically a bit of waste land with a ticket machine. Always space on there so that's nice and easy.

Anyone know anything about ticket prices, the Notts website hasn't got anything about the fixture up (or didn't when I looked yesterday) and neither have Tigers.

Yep. That. and the fact that it's friday after work, explains why I won't be there.
