Has anyone had any snow yet?
I'm very surprised nobody has started a snow thread yet. I'll get the ball rolling ...
Looking out of the window at the moment, it's easing off a little bit and I'd estimate we're under at least a foot of the stuff. As Des Coleman reported on last night's EMT, it's been snowing here continually since 09.30 yesterday.

Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

Re: Has anyone had any snow yet?
We've had a bit, about 3 to 4 inches in total over in Norfolk.
Mostly the roads are fine now although the side roads are like glass (and people just can not drive!!!).
Thought we were done with the snow as had nothing yesterday but there are a few flakes in the wind this morning. (-5 degrees according to car)
Have had to cancel training for thursday as pitches are unsafe and Sunday's matches for my boys are already looking doubtful.

It's not the winning or losing but the taking apart which matters.

^^ what Rykard said.
Although it did take me an hour and twenty minutes to do the 5 mile drive into Leicester from my home, which normally takes about 25 even in rush hour. The main roads are clear, people are just driving slowly.

Don't waste your time away thinking about yesterday's blues

Sponsorship deals may come and go but the CRUMBIE stand will always remain.
Re: Has anyone had any snow yet?
It's old hat up here mi duck. Constantly snowing since last week. All the outside pipes in the stable block froze up on one bad night last week and the daytime temperatures of 0, +1 and +2 have been nowhere near enough to defrost them.
So I'm spending 5 gruelling hours a day carrying water out to thristy nags.
I'll soon have guns like Austin Healy.
Roads not gritted ever, at all. Post not delivered for days. Bins not emptied. Crashed vans and lorries being rescued by local farmers as "emergency services" can't get through.
I'm so glad that my wife's meagre little business pays £8,000 per annum in business rates for f*ck all. Still, I expect the Parent's Equality Workshop will still go ahead with it's usual three attendees at a cost of thousands of pounds, and they'll continue to produce their poxy free glossy mag telling us how wonderful they are.

Terribly difficuly jobs they have - and the CEO only earns three time as much as the PM.
Still keeping the faith!
Re: Has anyone had any snow yet?
Blizzards here on and off all day. Melting off the roads quickly though, thankfully.
Re: Has anyone had any snow yet?
10 to 12 inches in Lincoln. Kinny mentioned gritted roads, is this a new thing happening in other parts of the country. Bill also mentions jobs in local goverment, here in Lincoln i believe they are just get togethers for a chat. Tried to join but they always have a long waiting list.
Re: Has anyone had any snow yet?
Lincoln christmas market cancelled, proper christmas weather and they cancel the market the mind bogles. Could be the special ones on the council could not get in for the freebies so they threw the teddies out of the pram.
