Forget Wales' muted response, or the Twickenham crowds' drowning-out of the Haka with "Swing Low Sweet Chariot"... Austin has the greatest responce of them all!

Everyone outside of New Zealand moaned about him.TigerS2 wrote:I remember after he did that, everyone moaned about him....
The Kiwi's didn't care as much as most people claimed they did
Re: Cockers: Stand up to the Haka
I will put my point on the Haka first. I disagree with it. In Professional sport a 1% advantage is huge and making your opponents stand still for 2 minutes cooling down whilst you warm up is nothing more than gaining an advantage.
However, having said the IRB banning Haka responses is a joke. The most memorable Haka's are always where the opponents have responded (Cockers at OT, Wales at the Millenium 2 years ago etc.). Taking that away makes it just a complete gloried warmup

Re: Cockers: Stand up to the Haka
it is great and it must continue! Perhaps England could try the Morris dance?

or Agadoo!
Re: Cockers: Stand up to the Haka
Campo use to always go and warm up himself whilst the Haka was performed. As pointed out above the AB's spend 2 mins warming up whilst the other team has to just stand there and this is after standing still for 10 mins during line ups and national anthems. Campo always use to claim it was no coincidence why the AB's normally get off to strong starts!
At the moment it is warm up, anthems, haka and then straight into the game. Maybe they should allow 5 mins between haka and the match for both teams to stretch off again.

I don't see why the AB's 'We're gonna beat you' little dance is so sacred. Why should the IRB make it wrong to respond how you like to their attempted intimidation? Cockers was set up to do what he did, but good luck to him. I think you should respond as the Irish and Welsh did or go into your own huddle and ignore it, but let them know you are ignoring them.
Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.

Oh, some early dance references, a bit more 'Night Fever' disco than threat:

And for a response?

Go for a warm up at the other end of pitch and enjoy winding the Kiwis up by ignoring them. Or claim its intimidatory under European Human Rights and claim compensation
