[quote="bluntiger ERC like the IRU are toothless beaurocrats who will always prefer to brush things under the carpet rather than take tough decisions. [/quote]
Don't think Sequins see it that way!

Re: Saracens again cross the line
Mark Evans (who also complied with the cover up) is still CEO of sequins and they remained in the competition throughout, so to many it was not quite a root-and-branch inquest. Remember, they also took no action against Chapman or Brennan either leaving their punishment to their respective clinical bodies or employers. Frankly, the IRB should have banned Chapman and Brennan from all forms of rugby too.Bill W (2) wrote:Don't think Sequins see it that way!
And the decision to ban Deano wasn't a tough decision since, in the end, Tom Williams, then Wendy Chapman and then Steph Brennan all admitted their guilt.

"Club's decision" eh ?
I smell a Venter at work - maybe its the siege mentality "us against the world" thing - maybe, but in this case that's because the rest of the world is in the Right !!
I keep trying to see this from Saffa's point of view, but cannot see why a day out at a beer festival is more important that honouring such a commitment ? If its that important for the other 30 odd players to 'bond' with Borthwick (really ?), then change the date of the day out ....
These things really don't show the ERC in a good light either - "turn up or you're out the competition" would soon have sorted things out ! - I've seen a captain at a previous launch on crutches still turning out !

Saracens arrogance
Saracens have issued an apology to the ERC for any inconvenience caused by their no-show at Monday's Heineken Cup media briefing.
Still think too much of themselves to bother I think

Re: Saracens arrogance
And yet Brits, Houghaard et al seem such lovely fellers when interviewed.
I think perhaps theres only one person whose arrogance represents the whole of Saffers : Venter.

The other part is that they had been told of the event in August (weeks ago) and had committed to attend along with everyone else.
So it seems their word is worthless, their committment means nothing, a club with no values.

Look on the bright side,if they're out on the beer and not training, they'll not last 80 minutes on Saturday will they.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

"Inconvenience"? Maybe "Disrespectful" "Arrogance" "Un-professional" I'm sure Bill W can add many more.
Either way, they do clearly feel that they are above the protocol.
"Advertising" the group game against Leinster - Only because it's money to them if they get the punters in. Maybe they should try to fill Vicarage Road on a week by week basis.
Glad Ventner is not my GP, bedside manner seems a bit ......

It was raised in mitigation at his trial for pushing an elderly lady Tigers supporter, where, despite witness evidence from Tigers stewards, he was found not guilty . "A doctor would not have done this!"
Yeah! Right!!
