So, on count Number One, the committee's decision is 'Up Yours, Squealer.'
Now for round two. Who's that I can see rooting through the dustbins?

Re: Ospreys only get a fine
About what was expected. But do we now have a cheats charter? €25K seems like a small drop in the purse...
Re: Ospreys only get a fine
25000 will that hurt ospreys bank balance?
Re: Ospreys only get a fine
Did you really expect anything else looking at who was on the panel?
Will we appeal?
Will we appeal?

But Byrne's been banned!

Yes, by 25,000 Euros. Perhaps keeping a dignified silence and pleading guilty to the mistake wasn't a bad strategy after all.kingol22 wrote:25000 will that hurt ospreys bank balance?
We just need to wait to see what else Wheeler's Weasels can dig up. Any comment from the Tigers camp yet? I bet they're cock-a-hoop. The Rottweilers will already have cost well in excess of £25k.
Re: Ospreys only get a fine
Basically, no. It is a tenth of what the queens got fined, for comparison.kingol22 wrote:25000 will that hurt ospreys bank balance?
Re: Ospreys only get a fine
We do not have the right to appeal, it is between the Ospreys and the ERC. Don't really know why Leicester representatives were even present.Smudge wrote:Did you really expect anything else looking at who was on the panel?

Re: Ospreys only get a fine
The Ospreys will surely appeal. Byrne's ban will hopefully be cut to one week making him available for the Six Nations opener. Afterall Dan Luger wasn't banned in 2003 for the same transgression against Samoa in the World Cup.

more questions than answers, why didn't any of the officials know the rules regarding the awarding of a penalty ![:smt017](./images/smilies/017.gif)

Re: Ospreys only get a fine
£21K fine and two week suspension following pleas of guilty is likely right.
I do hope the Trolls will take particular note that both their Club and their poor little innocent player pleaded guilty.
Had ERC levied the fine on the Sunday then none of this would have been necessary.
I await with interest the comments regarding Mr. Lewis and the fourth official.

Still keeping the faith!

I hope we don't appeal. Enough is enough. Pound of flesh has been given, now let's forget it.FBI wrote:The Ospreys will surely appeal. Otherwise, God only knows what we will see in future years.
End of. Please.

Summarised as
Not premeditated and had no material impact on the game.
As Mr Wheeler is the moral guardian of sportsmanship and all competing clubs, I assume he will be apologising for any suggestion he made that the game should be replayed etc etc
