Attendance - Tigers vs Leicester City
Today's attendance was a sellout 24,000.
A great day for Tigers supporters.
Did anyone see Leicester City's attendance yesterday?
It was .................... 23,999!
Tigers always were the best sports team in Leicester.

Sorry to hear that TTRITH. Match result brilliant, play good in parts - Mad Dog showed himself a worthy captain.

Re: Attendance - Tigers vs Leicester City
City's game was a late kick off and on the tv which will have put a few thousand off the mark and they still beat us. Depends how you look at it. Of course your comparing a 2nd tier football side with the most succesful club rugby side in history and they football still averages some 2,500 higher. I guess it proves how far the game still needs to go?
Re: Attendance - Tigers vs Leicester City
It is obviously calculated on ticket sale and not turnstile count as there were lots empty seat in the CAT stand and around us in the A&L stand.

Re: Attendance - Tigers vs Leicester City
I want to see big attendances at both City and Tigers. However, this is difficult with all the swapping of times (although I believe Sky compensate clubs for this). I used to go to both but its expensive.
We need more joined up thinking in sport. This is a harsh financial world we live in and all sporting clubs need to reduce their costs.
For example could London Irish and Wasps share a ground?
Same goes for Northampton Saints and Northampton Town.
We should have, but thats history now.

Sorry smalldell, but could not disagree more, did you really want Tigers to leave Welford road and be a tenant at the crisp bowl?smalldell wrote:I want to see big attendances at both City and Tigers. Always playing "second fiddle",with us having to move our home fixtures to friday nights like Sale have to,surely you've made a mistake?

Tigers release ticket sales as attendance and City release actual supporters who attended hence they had more fans for their 2nd tier tv game than we did for our non tv prem game. Of course we had to move to the Sunday in the first place to accommodate the football.
Re: Attendance - Tigers vs Leicester City
The lcfc attendance was pretty good for a boxing day evening and given an average reduction of over 3,500 for a live tv game for a club that would expect over 24,000 for a game against a 'rival' team. I would suggest that if the situation had been reversed , Tigers 6pm boxing day and live on tv and the @#itty the day after @2pm the soccer would have exceeded the rugby attendance by upwards of 7,000.
Re: Attendance - Tigers vs Leicester City
Excuses, excuses!
The fact remains it was:
Tigers 24,000
LCFC 23,999
Very close, but only one winner!

Should one take not merely the number but the quality of those attending?Pete wrote:Excuses, excuses!

You mean, Bill, that it should be 23,999 each?
Re: Attendance - Tigers vs Leicester City
On tickets sold - thats the basis of the attendance.
Sadly, my mate who comes up from London and is a ST holder didnt make it either!!
But officially, Tigers did it!
