The return of Croft and Ellis

I have just seen an article on the BBC sport website that says that the Llanelli scarlet lions will not be returning until late September. This has made me wonder as to when our own tom croft and harry ellis will be returning, as it would definitely be a plus to our squad at the start of the season if we had them back. However, I have in the past heard some talk of a mandatory rest period floating around.
Can anyone enlighten me on this matter, as I would be very grateful.
