EA Rugby 09 game?

Post by chipnchase »

Will there be one out?

Fed up with having to chop and change players into the Tigers Squad. Also the kits are out of date on 08 and its always raining at WR!
Be good to see them have a 'season' mode for the prem which includes, league, HC and EDF.
Also still hoping for a 7's circuit as well :smt023

Come on EA make it happen!

Chipnchase, excuse my ignorance.

What does EA stand for? Please could you make it a bit clearer for those that are not in tune with EA.

Thanks

Apparently not until 2010 (according to various other forums). I wasn't a huge fan of the current one (not been a huge fan of rugby games full stop!), but it would be nice to see a good version on the PS3/XBox. The Madden games are always good quality graphics, gameplay and realism - be nice if EA could do the same for rugby.

I lost interest when I saw Danny Hipkiss was just as "poor" in this edition as he was in the previous incarnation. I can't remember if he is still Australian in the game though! :smt003

:smt016 He is in Rugby 08!

I sure hope there is a Rugby 09! But I hope the next time all the names are consistant. Like the French names are different in the clubs. Like Mallack? I think you know who that should really be!

People should try the World League though if you have the game :smt002

If that was all we have to worry about! Don't worry, soon you will have loans, mortgages and children to worry about. PS games are just that, games. Imitating real life, but not really real life. If Dan Hipkiss isn't the best in the game, it's that, a game.

I rate Rugby 06 as one of my favourite games, possibly ever. However 08 was a rushed, botched and really disappointing attempt. It took the franchise backwards in my opinion.

HOWEVER, EA have a real tradition of taking 2 steps forward one step back. And of the last 3 rugby games that is exactly what has happened. I therefore hope the next incarnation is a real winner.

Not having every northern hemisphere ground as a mud bath would help!

Still, it was developed down in Australia I do believe and it seems to have been aimed much more at their market.

Jonah Lomu Rugby on the PS1, now there's a game!

I didn't rate Jonah Lomu rugby very highly IMO.

In all fairness it isn't the best game per se in terms of measurable quality (gameplay, graphics, physics etc) but I played it to death at the time and still occasionally go down memory lane by dusting off my old PS1, now relegated to a drawer, and getting the Lomu disc out. Mind you I also do this with my megadrive and NHLPA hockey 93

Nah it wasn't gameplay it was the camera angles on the goal kicking which made it :censored: hard to have a decent kick at goal.
