I'm sure we could wave a few pom poms for you lads ;) Just don't count on me for the ra-ra mini skirt!
You really do not want to see me in a ra-ra skirt! Have also got a frozen shoulder so probably not too good with the pompoms either - can shout a bit, so would attend if it was somewhere accessible.

i'll definately play - anywhere in the forwards - centre if we really struggle, email me some details, it won't be for a few weeks right? - and we might want to get together for a practice at some point, work out who's lifting who in line outs etc etc.

ive just got the nod from a u17 midlands winger/full back - there are alot of legal issues we need to sort out - like a ref, how old participants have to be etc etc and esepcially - a venue!?!?

heres a list of the things i think we need to sort out - off the top of my head:
venue
referee
age of participants
health insurance
maybe a corporate sponsor - for kit etc, one for each team - or th club could provide the kit.
advertising - to actualy make a profit

ben you can play on the wing, most of us prefer the good old days of 9 man rugby, where the winger just got cold, so its perfectly safe

I'd be more than Happy to Play, scrum half by trade but can play back row as well.
Any help needed in arranging this event then you will have the full backing of Birstall Rugby Club to help with matters such as the lrfu.

Oh I'm sure its worth a go. I'm just warning you that it won't be a stroll in the park or a gentle game of Touch that you are letting yourself in for!

To give you some idea, I think the last time they played, they had Ash Rowden refereeing!

if they are truly a bruising bunch, then is it not better we have an age limit, cutting out ben, and maybe even myself, because in a matt hampson charity game i would absolutely hate it, as im sure matt and everyone else involved would, if somone was put into the same horrbile position as matt due to a mis-match between an adult and a 13 year old winger, i understand that the bristol lads will be careful - but this is a contact sport and that is why we have age groups - and accidents happen.

I would definitely advise it becomes an adults-only match.

The Bristol team are not pro's and don't train regularly, but they do have an annual fixture against the Bath Supporters and do have a few training sessions in advance of each game.

Im not trying to talk them up or anything like that.

It's just that, like you, I don't want anyone to get injured by not being prepared enough & taking the game lightly by thinking it's just a gentle knock-around.

I myself haven't played rugby for a few years now and am badly out of practice so I'm not going anywhere near the pitch on this occasion!
