Do you think Marshall wants to take his rugby ball back to NZ?

He may have a point. I love watching Super 14 because the games are so open and have such a flow to them.

Still, always funny to see a kiwi whinging!

Ah ... The old playing by the rules game!

Yes that is a major fault of Northern hemiphere rugby - fancy wanting to enforce those things that get in the way of a basketball game!

Fancy wanting to enforce little silly laws like forward pass, knock ons, blocking, handling in the ruck, spear tackling, - lets have some more more sothern hemisphere refs so that doesn't get enforced and we can have a 100 points every game - that would really be fun - the only thing we could penalise then would be pushing too hard in the scrums and then we could get rid of all those big fat blokes on the field or better still the scrummage altogether

I'll tell you what all those in favour - go and paly another game and leave rugby Union to those of us who enjoy with all the laws correctly enforced

Well said Mighty Mouse! Its so sad that these unfortunate declining kiwis etc have to come over here, earn a pretty decent contract and then they have to obey the laws of the game. Whatever next?

I think that his style of rugby is better suited to New Zealand as there game is alot faster and more open than the game in England.

I think passing forward and blocking would "speed up" the game - it's just I prefer the laws to be applied as they are , and also prefer that the laws aren't tampered with every 5 mins to create advantage to teams who have weaker forwards or to create spectacle for those who do not understand rugby in it's current format.

Mighty mouse you are/were blatantly a forward! Whilst I agree with
some of the above comments you must rue the day rugby became
professional!
I bet you loved those 3 all draws played in wet boggy
conditions but in 'great sprit' whilst the backs froze to death in the
background and one man and his dog came to watch. As a Tigers
and England fan i do appriciate forwards play but as a rugby fan it
is very boring to watch.
Super 14 is very entertaining to watch
because the referees give adavantage to the attacking team!!
Yes some passes do go forward and some blocking happens
but we are not talking American Football here!!
As a professional sport Rugby needs to be enertaining moments
such as Oz getting the ball in the 2001 final, the 97 Lions tour
and Jason Robinson in general to promote the sport.

The quins game last week proves the point- Referee blew his
whistle every 5 seconds very frustrating!! Stopped all continuity
and the game was poor!! Can't imagine to many 'neutrals' enjoying
it. Forwards in the game today seem to be able to cancel each other
out mostly certainly at international level. NZ do not have great forwards
but they are the best because of the skill in the backs. I would rather watch
Carter, Rockoco, Mauger, Umaga etc because they play 'heads up'
Rugby.
As someone once said the best referees are the one's nobody
notices! I do under stand that the weather conditions do affect play
but IMO referees in this hemisphere seem to love attention!

I sympathize you Mr Marshall.. From a disgruntled Full back/Wing :x

I seem to remember the HC SF 2005/06 at the Walkers against Toulouse had plenty of unpenalised forward passes in it

Typical of Marshall though, whinging about decisions going against him and his team, forget about playing the ref, start playing the game!

Anyone watched Marshall struggling with the Ospreys this year ?

Watched two matches with JM playing, and its patently obvious that he is not yet on the same page as the rest of his team. He looks pretty exasperated, hence the article.

I fear he is playing for the wrong type of team; unless the O's sort this out I can see a very frustrated JM !
