When I lived in Lagos we had a resident gekko that for the most part lived in our daughter's bedroom.
Primarily it used to very quickly snap up any mosquito that dared enter her room. But somehow it also seemed to keep the flat free of spiders.

Ours was a nice club because it was a mixture of expatriot old f*rts who knew how to play put had drunk rather too much Star to maintain their fighting weight, and Nigerian students who were keen to learn.
To say these students combined speed with bulk would be an understatement. If the country ever takes rugby seriously, they could be a real force.
I played in a sevens tournement in Kaduna. Kaduna RFC managed to put 4 teams in. And this is absolutely true, some of the 3rd and 4th team players played in bare feet.
Not that they came to any harm as no one could catch them.
