Wow. I don't think you can blame the WOMEN for the belly though red. Could it perhaps have been the beer? And Sim, is it really the women to blame for poor meals...perhaps the fact that women are working may possibly mean that the sexes could share the house hold chores. Just a thought....

Agree that ready meals are terrible though. We cook everything chez Cornish, and grow most of it organically in me poly tunnel. We are very democratic, husband is dead gourmet, I am more jobbing cook, but we're both pretty good. Whoever is least busy workwise shops and cooks. I'm on duty at the moment. Only took over a week ago, having had months off as I was busiest. Always have a sit down family evening meal, no telly. That's what's important I think. Making food enjoyable and a real family event. Making sure they eat their veg, and try loads of diffferent stuff. So many of my kid's friends though just fend for themselves with pot noodles. Very bad.

I would love to play rugby. I am a scrum half I think. Small and fearless. Just too far and too old. Sorry Viper. Hope you've got a lot of people.

Is it really a game for ladies though? All those young athletic ladies tearing at each other ending up on the floor getting all sweaty and muddy.....

Nurse! The screens please!

Rugby World this month had a pretty terrifying picture of a couple of women players. I did have this sweet image of it being all girly and ooh, excuse me, did I hurt you. Not any more. But quite right too. If you're going to play, play.

Good for you Kate. What position?

Have just foraged down the polytunnel and got some sweetcorn. Pork escalopes and sweetcorn. What on earth am I going to do with that? I am not a very organised cook. Most of my meals are called "[insert main ingredient here] surprise" Nutritious - but weird.

flanker me thinks!!

sounds like my mums cooking!! thats why my dad does it!! its because my mum couldnt stand the smell and thought of cooking food when she was pregnant with me so it was a case of if my dad wanted to eat he had to cook for himself

and im 16 now and he is still cooking

my mum is a great cook and does really healthy stuff! plus we all go to the gym so there is no obesity in our family  if i played rugby i'd most likely be the wing... although i'd run away from the opposition  i think i'd be better off on the sidelines!

Sim wrote:Sounds like most women do, i mean where are they cooking and cleaning all day while the man is out working no they don't they sit on there bottoms and do <img src='images/smiles/icon_censored.gif'> all all day and then they go to the chippy or the supermarket to buy the ready made meals. Thats the reason for obeasity now, the women used to stay at home and cook dinner and nice well prepared dinner, cooked properly, made with real ingredients, and now, nothing, something about you all having rights, yeh well thanks women but now you're causing obeasity and early deaths and after all the years of hunting (very early on) and the bread winning etc.

So don't you get on your high horse hannah you Murderer, well i suppose its Manslaughter.
dear Sim
as a mother and wife and someone who also cooks extra for disabled 82 year old father....may I respectfully respond....

PIFFLE, BALDERDASH AND SIMILAR!

How dare you generalise in such a way! "most women" indeed - I'm sure I am NOT in a minority amongst the female board users when I buy fresh produce from the market, butchers and/or greengrocers two or three times a week, I cook decent healthy meals - no added salt anywhere, minimal fat - mostly steamed or dry oven roasted veg and meats. I prepare extra and freeze some for use another day, plus take small portions to my elderly Dad. Most of the women I am friendly with, and the ones I work with, all do the same. I'd like to bet that DCat, Cornish Tiger, KarenH and so on all do the same too.

Blame obesity on many things, hidden additives in foods, drinks and medicines, advertising, even the use of computers and computer games instead of outdoor activities - but please think before you lump all "us women" together in the blame for obesity in this country!

:D Go Rizzo! Ooh you don't want to make us angry Sim. We might spend our housekeeping on a catapult. :D If we could be bothered to switch off Neighbours and get up off the sofa that is.

we're trying to get a few WAGs to come along, but generaly they see the mess that their men come home in every week, and so don't really fancy ending up in the same state!

we're trying to convince some of the better looking male players to go out on the pull to convince some ladies to join up, they should enjoy that and they may get something else into the bargain as well as some new players if they play their cards right!
