The Rollercoaster has begun - England !

Post by westwinds31 »

Well, hold on because we're off......good goals tonight, thought Hargreaves played fine, Joe Cole far and away the best player on the park for england...but we have that self-destruct thing down to a tee don't we...and I don't expect it to end here....same will happen in the next round...hold on tight !!

Another painful display to watch. First looked promising, lots of breaks forward and players actually running around. Then the defence went to pieces in the second half and Sven decided a draw was good enough.

Same old in the end.

Where was Walcott? What was the point in taking him if not to play him in games that dont count? He's not gonna get a go later on in the tournament, plus if Owne's out we only have two strikers in total.

sport is so painful. why i chose the teams that i support i will never know. first there is saints who only ever win by about a point, then everton who only ever win 1-0, and now the england football team. at least the england rugby team just lose and don't put me through emotional torture week in week out.
Donncha O'Callaghan and Bruce Reihana are the best players that ever lived. Don't even bother to argue with me.

And - however good Imanol Harinordoquy is, he is still an idiot

It was a good win against a team thats hard to play against> That said the set-peice (notm open play) defendingwas dire-ahwoever Sweden are proably the best set-peice team in the world. BOwens injury looks bad.

Well we drew actually and we still haven't beaten them for 38 years!!

I agree with the sentiments on here about England. I was watching outside a pub or two in London as the pubs were full. In the first half England played the better and I thought we were going to win and go on but in the second half we fell apart and were lucky to have come away with anything and had we lost we would have been playing Germany next. How come the performance dipped so much?

To have won would have been a travesty to Sweden but I was standing outside a pub in the second half cheering when Gerrard scored and hoping but of course we blew the victory with comical defending!! The funny thing was the pub was Dutch but with mostly Swedish people in and there's me cheering an England goal outside!!

I didn't see Michael Owen's injury but it sounds desparate for England and with Walcott not being played our striking options are down to two. it highlights Eriksson's stupidity in not bringing at least another striker in Defoe.

Yes Simon no doubt had you been in an English pub and been Swedish, you would've been hammered for that!!! (I HATE FOOTBALL). bring on the rugby.....

Kaye (I've only just found out your real name!! ) you're so right about what would have happened the other way round!!

It shows what nice folks the Swedes are!!

I went past one pub and after a while an elderly couple passed and asked the score. one person asked the bloke who they wanted to win and where they were from. he said they were from denmark and they didn't mind who won!! :D :D :D :D He also said good luck to us and enjoy the game!! Nice Dane. :D :D :D

sunday drinking eh, jesus must be turning in his grave. did jesus actually have a grave?? or did they cremate him. or did he fly up to heaven and have a bevy with jesus?? i really don't know. i started reading the bible, but after ten pages i realised there was no martial arts, love scenes or bruce willis so i returned it to the library where i nicked it.

psalm chapter 5 verse 5: verily verily i say unto ye "seek forth the bruce willis, for he shall guide you to the light my brethren posse"

All that bible stuff's a bit too much for me in the mornings!! I know the bible doesn't make exhilarating reading. Martial arts and love scenes are great for me too.

Like your interpretation of psalm chapter 5 verse 5!! :D :D :D :D

And what makes me think you're a big Bruce Willis fan!!
