I gotta donkey

Post by Kinoulton »

Bought from Melton Market on Saturday.

By heck it's noisy! When it sounds off, it's like a supertanker lost in fog. It makes all the horses jump out of their skin.

Anyone else ever owned one?

 Wow! I would like a donkey though I don't think my parents would be very happy if I brought one home. What is the donkeys name?

We've called it Doug, after my wife's brother.

He's slow and has big ears.

 Aaah how wicked is that. I occasionally sell tickets for the donkey sanctuary and have been once or twice to visit them.

Donkeys are lovely gentle creatures that have character and spirit. I take it it's a male donkey then if you're calling him Doug. How old is he, is he a gelding, hope so or else you might have fun with him!!!! 8)

There are two donkeys in a field where I hack out with my friend and there is a public bridleway through the field. The donkeys are very inquisitive but not at all nasty.

i couldn't agree more Iain. a bit unfair on the donkey though
Donncha O'Callaghan and Bruce Reihana are the best players that ever lived. Don't even bother to argue with me.

And - however good Imanol Harinordoquy is, he is still an idiot

The donkey still has all his bits intact. However, the vet will remove them on Thursday. After that he can spend his life out in the fields with all the horses.

At the moment he has to be content with rubbing noses with Rudy (our young horse) through the bars that separate their stables.

My mum had a donkey when she was younger, it was from Melton market.
It would walk so far, turn around and come back and that was your lot!
Must have had been born in skeggy!
