He refereed the home game against Worcester last season, seem to remember him having a decent game. But more memorable for the hit on shillcock. https://www.premiershiprugby.com/watch/ ... ors-attackOakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 8:01 pm Referee: Adam Leal (8th Premiership game). To win is not as important as playing with style!
Re: Gloucester away Sat 13th March
Not only a no arms tackle but leading with the forearm with direct contact to the head. No mitigation; red card and six weeks ban.
That said, he may have been one of our better players on the day

Re: Gloucester away Sat 13th March
It's plain daft that an accidental head contact gets a longer ban than a glantant, deliberate shoulder to the head.
I accept that the accidental ones jave to be discouraged by getting players to tackle lower but to incur a harsher punishment than a deliberate shoulder to the head is bonkers.
One was a penalty, perhaps a yellow, the other out and out red with no mitigation whatsoever.
They need to change it so that a player can plead guilty but unintentional rather than be expected to plead guilty to a deliberate act of foul play simply to avoid a greater penatly.
Careless - penalty yellow to red. Reckless red with limited ban and deliberate red with significant ban. I don't think there should be a matter of pleading guilty or not guilty to the first two unless there is other evidence to disprove the contact.
The deliberate ones - plead not guilty and avoid a longer ban, but it should always be longer than that for a careless/reckless contact even if good conduct and a gulity plea occurs. Liebenberg's red was at worst careless (he was't expecting a player to be jumping there and landing on him. Wiese's red was reckless (he wasn't making a legal clear out but the head contact was unintentional) and Hepatima's a deliberate blow to the head. The penalties for the first two disproportionate to the latter.

Re: Gloucester away Sat 13th March
Thorley admitted that he deliberately "stayed upright" in order to "fully wrap and prevent an offload". Clearly he didn't intend to headbutt the guy but the latter was a direct consequence of the former. Hanro didn't mean to catcher out in the either but he put himself into a position where that it was a reasonable possible outcome as opposed to a freak one.

Re: Gloucester away Sat 13th March
So no George Martin in the England 23 this week. Wonder if he will be released back to Tigers? I’m guessing not based on past experience
Re: Gloucester away Sat 13th March
It doesn’t matter where either play to be honest, we could see Liebenberg start at 6 but is at the rear for all the defensive scrums, they’re both interchangeable really regardless of shirt number.
Formerly of Burbaaage (not Inkleh), now up north at uni

Think it’s about keeping within the England bubble isn’t it so almost impossible to come and out as in normal timesOakhamTiger32 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 6:07 pm So no George Martin in the England 23 this week. Wonder if he will be released back to Tigers? I’m guessing not based on past experience
