Just found a story in the Bath paper that said we made an offer for Francois Louw who has just signed for Bath, although it came out in April he was headed for the Rec.

It also mentions that Salvi has signed a two year deal with us so as others have said he will be staying. I hadn't realised we were looking for a flanker before Newby had surgery and thought Salvi had been spoken to when the club knew Newbs would be out. Louw clearly has no sense, he can't watched last seasons game at the rec

Re: Julian Salvi to Leicester - confirmed
I think Louw made a smart move going for Bath over Tigers.
Bath won't make it past group stages of the HC and with the Premiership getting tougher each year they are unlikely to make the play offs either. By opting for Bath over Leicester he is effectively earning more per game than if he played for Tigers and had to play all those knock out matches and then finals!

Also Louw is a specialist blindside and we have those coming out of our ears. Salvi being a specialist openside makes more sense.
All good 7's play on the edge if not they are a waste of space!!
