They have decided to sign a host of South Africans of whom most will be absent half season and the SARU have come out and said they will not release players back to Premiership Clubs during the international spell. This will really test Sale’s depth, I can’t see any major improvement from them next season.
They'll miss 2 or 3 games at the start of the season and 2 games in the AIs. They'll have a great team for European games, the rest of the league and the playoffs.

You don't win anything by having good players all year round, you win by having excellent players for the games that matter.

I don’t think you understand, Rugby Championship runs into the end of September and now the Springboks won’t release players until the end of November internationals which will be end of November. That’s nearly half the season

If that's true then World Rugby will get involved as its not a continuous designated international window.

And the players won't be contracted with the SARU so I don't see how it's even feasible for SA not to release them!

Sale will surely have looked into the matter of availability, before signing any player from the southern hemisphere?

SARU made this announcement a couple of days ago, Sale behind doors made those two signings a little while ago so I'm not sure.

Rassie Erasmus on Regulation 9
“We have told the overseas clubs that we will be enforcing Regulation 9 and will be requiring our players for up to 14 weeks of the year. If the clubs don’t like that then they have the option of not signing the player.”

It's just so invisibly "flexible". :smt043

Would love us to sign Synman, the guy is a tank and also very dynamic for such a big guy.

Shame about that stupid punchup because there's a player in there, his performance alongside Wells at home to Chiefs last year was one of our best second row performances as a pair I've seen in a long time,it was that good in the lineout that Chiefs were kicking for points!!!
