I remeember the match against England A well as it was only my second visit to Welford Road, the first coming a couple of months earlier on 4th October 1997 for Toulouse's visit in the Heineken Cup. Unfortunately Toulouse narrowly won that day 23-22 and I didn't get to witness my first Tigers victory until over a year later when we beat "Manchester Sale" (as they were called at that point) in October 1998. Each Tigers game in between was either a draw or a defeat!
The Toulouse game was, until the defeat by Saracens in September 2011, the one and only time I sat down to watch a Tigers 1st XV game at Welford Road. All the other games I saw were viewed from the terrace.
