Ulster’s confirmed leaving list.

Wouldn’t mind a look at Rory Sutherland at LHP? Sam Carter at lock might be a decent 1 season shout too if Green retired and Chessum was still injured with Martin and Henderson at the WC.
Also Rob Lyttle a good outside back - could be worth a punt??

Sutherland definitely the type of LHP I would be targeting.

He started at 8 on the 22nd of April. He does seem to have had more bench time since he announced he was off but that could have been because another player came into form or recovered from injury I don't follow La Rochelle so not sure.
I think he was injured early in the season, but since round 9 of the T14 (they're now on round 23) he's only been out of the Top14 23 twice.
He didn't get an instant release from Worcester so wouldn't have been at La Rochelle for the start of the season so could be a reason he missed a few games.
Good point, well made. I'd forgotten the circumstances of how he eventually moved to La Rochelle. Ironic, given yesterday's news.

Didn’t Glasgow say they wanted to sign him?

Possibly, but with Bhatti, Kebble, Berghan, Dell among others they have a large prop stable. Wouldn’t mind looking at Oli Kebble (SA born Scottish prop) if Sutherland is heading to Scotstoun.

Unfortunately, Watson is not on the list of stayers or the list of the ones who have signed a new contract for next year, but as has been said, we can but live in hope

Browning not on the list either?
I assumed FVW would be on that list also, must’ve been a longer deal than first thought.

Does leave room in the squad, not only for the youngsters to step up but also for McKeller to bring in his own players to the squad too.

Really interesting that Watson wasn't on that leaver list.

15. Steward/Shillcock/Brown
14. Watson/Potter/Browning
11. OHC/Basset/Simmons

Job done I think for the back 3.

Gopperth leaving is the only half surprise there, I assume going to Wasps in the Championship.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

From the wording we're not assured of Watson, but not definitely leaving, which means we're still in the running IMO...
