I did say to forget about injuries, so it wasn't a definite list, just a worst case.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 11:20 amChessum (O) is not going to be fit till the start of next season, so won’t go to RWC, but I do agree that in all probability Martin and Henderson will go.westwinds31 wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 11:09 amIf we assume that (forget about injuries)....Chessum (O), Henderson & Martin are away with the World Cup, Snyman is leaving, we're left with Wells & Green, with Manz and Chessum (L) probably featuring during the Cup competition at the start of the season. An international lock would be hard to find, unless there's someone who isn't selected for the RWC who is available, or a DK pick from Aus. World Cup years are never kind to clubs like Tigers, given the amount of players that will no doubt be selected - if you think potentially Cole, Cronin, Heyes, Montoya, Chessum, Martin, Henderson, Reffell, Wiese, Youngs, JVP, Pollard, Kelly, Scott, Hassell-Collins, Steward....that leaves us down to the bones in many areas. Obviously there's opportunity there for others but when you look at other clubs, eg: Gloucester - how many will they lose ? Rees-Zammit, Harris, Alemano, Mercer....is that it ?happywomble wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 10:36 am Increases Cam Hendersons chances of going to the WC - https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1178227730?-1 ... t_news#out.
Wonder if we will monitor the progress and get someone in as short term cover given the injuries to Green and Chessum and Synman departing? May leave us with limited cover if Martin also selected
I know your list of players going to the World Cup is a potential list but IMHO it won’t be quite as bad.
For me, counting Watson as we don’t know what is happening yet , you’ve got :
Certainties- Montoya, Cole/Heyes, Reffell, Wiese, JVP, Pollard, Watson and Steward.
Possibles - Dolly, Cole/Heyes, Martin, Henderson, Youngs, Kelly, Porter, OHC.
I would be really surprised if any one outside that list made it, and doubt we would loose both Kelly and Porter, it would be either or

Just seen future Tiger Kyle Hatherall has been voted Top 14 player of the month

He's not played in Europe at all. Maybe it's just how O'Gara is rotating the squad. Hatherall played 8 last time out against Clermont.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 5:59 pmThat’s interesting. They haven’t used him in Europe during the knockout stages at all

French teams often don’t pick players when they are leaving

With regards to the locks it’s sadly rumoured that Callum Green’s career is over due to the injury he has!!! Might just be a rumour but it’s being said his injury was more serious than we fans thought.

As you say it might just be a rumour but it seems to be gaining momentum.
Interesting Hatherall playing 8, always thought we are much more effective with Liebenberg at 6

He started at 8 on the 22nd of April. He does seem to have had more bench time since he announced he was off but that could have been because another player came into form or recovered from injury I don't follow La Rochelle so not sure.

Hatherell, is definitely in the Liebenberg mould, covers all three positions in the back row and lock in a pinch too.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

We definitely need cover for Jasper so it's handy if he plays #8.

More cover cannot hurt but Cracknell's been doing a fair old job of covering 8 IMOCrumblingTerrace wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 8:19 pm We definitely need cover for Jasper so it's handy if he plays #8.
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

No international games on that weekend so it's probably rotation.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 7:44 pmAlldritt is their normal 8 when not with Francesam16111986 wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 7:07 pmHe started at 8 on the 22nd of April. He's a usefully versatile player.
Cracknell is a handy 8 and flanker as well. The two of them should help cover any gaps. Ilione stepping in for Reffell is both good for the side and important for his development.

I think he was injured early in the season, but since round 9 of the T14 (they're now on round 23) he's only been out of the Top14 23 twice.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 7:07 pmHe started at 8 on the 22nd of April. He didn't get an instant release from Worcester so wouldn't have been at La Rochelle for the start of the season so could be a reason he missed a few games.Hot_Charlie wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 6:28 amI think he was injured early in the season, but since round 9 of the T14 (they're now on round 23) he's only been out of the Top14 23 twice.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 7:07 pmHe started at 8 on the 22nd of April.
