Maybe a case of very carefully chosen words. He said "nothing ABOUT Leicester...." not nothing FROM Leicester. So he could in future say he meant " there is nothing (he can say) about Leicester...". Going on to say he was surprised to hear what was being said is again bland enough to mean he was surprised there was stuff in the media when it was all so new/under discussion/still to be decided.
I am not in the hope it is Townsend camp. I would be pleased but also I think it would be a bit quick and undermining WW who is supposed to be under consideration too.

Also says he "read that with surprise".. not where he read it. He may have read it in the rugby paper (I think that was where it originated in the press) or he may have read it on a text from his agent weeks before TRP reported it...

No Problem! I rate West very highly and he's still a good age to be a between Cronin in his 30s and Whitcombe at 21/22. I hope he becomes a longer term signing.
