I remember reading an article that quoted the Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal on how you can get around the salary cap (at least in France). He seemed to think it was quite simple (and hinted that it was simply direct payment of players from him and his companies rather than through the club). Not saying Saracens have done this but this kind of side payment would get around salary cap rules despite breaking the "spirit" of the agreements.jgriffin wrote:2 out of the last 4 years, evidence hidden. Some corrections RBRagingBull wrote:Sanderson has always been a miserable whinger.
This sort of attitude, which is not restricted to Sanderson, is why while I respect Sarries for what they have achieved, I will never admire them in this guise.

Sheessh. Another post saying how you can get around the cap without the poster having looked at the SCR or having any idea what is in them. They may not be perfect but assuming they were drawn up by idiots only shows who is the real idiot.Bristol Tiger wrote:I remember reading an article that quoted the Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal on how you can get around the salary cap (at least in France). I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game
Re: Sanderson - Leicester's cheating culture?
all we need is for the professional organisation to grow a pair and takes its responsibility seriously! The salary cap is a misnomer and will never be challenged.

Mr. Gibbs: We figured they were more actual guidelines.

I took it as banter - can't get too worked up about it.
Their "cheating" culture is an integral part of their (very effective) defence which operates at or beyond the laws, for example.
They cheat, we cheat - they did it better than us today but this was not the reason we lost.

Re: Sanderson - Leicester's cheating culture?
Does it really matter what he thinks? There is a club called the Leicester Tigers that I have been apart of for the past 40+ years. I do not give a diddy squat what anyone thinks or says about it in a negative fashion!! If the Tigers get stuffed, like today they get stuffed. All sides will, and do, cheat given the chance - I know I did on the pitch! When I played and got stuffed, you suck it up and try to fix it. The only thing that matters at WR is the performance on the pitch and that, with wishful thinking, the Tigers will never ever be defeated. It is a game of rugby, nothing less, nothing more. It will not change our lives only our enjoyment either up or down. You play the game, win or get beat; have a beer or many. it really does not matter what anybody says in the context of a game. When people use the media for whatever reason you need to step back a take good look at where they are coming from. They will say stuff just to make someone rise to the occasion!!

+1 the Tigers were beaten by a far better team - with the emphasis on Team!!RagingBull wrote:From memory he says it every time he is interviewed about Tigers.Tigris wrote:I took it as banter - can't get too worked up about it.

Re: Sanderson - Leicester's cheating culture?
Agreed - the better team won. But people like Brits and Itoje have class in what they say and how they play, whereas the likes of Sanderson and Farrell just don't. And probably never will.

Exactly, just treat it with the contempt it richly deserves :Alatoruk wrote:and people on this forum have risenTigerCam wrote:Does it really matter what he thinks? ...
