Tommy was Wales U20's Captain too wasn't he?
He was, Carnduff, JVP, Ilione all captained England u20s too
So did Chessum Jnr.

Personally I'd be tempted to make JvP the VC behind Montoya

Advert for the new head of physical performance is live on the website.

Rumours of Ollie Richardson's sacking are true then.

The most worrying thing is it’s still an advert in May when the new season starts in July… have to wonder if we can get a quality enough person in with the right fit and ideas this late in the game…

My understanding is that the players have only recently been informed of his sacking.

The job advert can't go up till the sacking is complete, closing date for the job application is the end of next week so planning on turning it round quickly

7 day deadline for such a specialised & senior position seems a little short, or is this the norm?

That could explain it then. Fair enough. Still a little worried about the options out there with the time factors involved..

I suspect given the position and the fact we chose to sack someone in the role, that it is likely we have at least a couple of potential candidates ready and contacted.

The public advert is more likely just in case there is a hidden gem they haven't identified on their shortlist.

We also need a FAST process. We want our S&C lead in place ASAP, they need to map out and plan our preseason.

There are some about, for example (and no suggestions about him or any hints more just I saw him after having heard rumours we'd sacked Richardson) Rhys Jones, a senior Strength and Conditioning coach was announced on scarlets leavers list after 16 years in their S&C team.

Again no idea if he's any good etc etc but there's people out there...

Devoto is more of a 12 I think, so would have thought this was unlikely.
To be fair though DMK likes to play players in all kinds of different positions (e.g Shilcock on the wing), so we could have him in to cover loose head prop 😂

The job advert is likely to be lip service to be seen to open to applications even if the decision has been made.

Few would doubt the loss of Aled has been difficult.
Get the attack sorted and not make a dogs breakfast of handling and we should be fine!

Replacing Aled is looking the equivalent of replacing Ferguson at Old Trafford...

Are we sure Richardson had more than a 12 month contract? If we are paying him & Dickens off, more money flushed away, did we pay Leigh Jones off as well?

Dan Jones leaving Scarlets, not the worst 10 in the world.

It’s been advertised cos they have someone in mind who doesn’t have a work permit. So they’ll show those who applied and say this person is so much better than Trevor from Fitness First that applied, you’ve got to give him a visa.

Another Aussie inbound is my bet.

Are we sure Richardson was sacked and there wasn't just honest conversations that led to him seeking employment elsewhere? It's not unusual for people to take on jobs, find they aren't a good fit and then move on again. I'm not sure why you think everyone gets a massive payoff either. Normally it's a fixed amount plus in lieu of notice. Not even that if they leave to go elsewhere.

Dickens and it appears Richardson haven't worked out. Concerning thing is that they probably weren't McKellar picks. Whomever assisted the recruitment didn't do the best of jobs there.

I've heard multiple sources say he's been sacked, players were told Monday and he's not with us for the rest of his season.

Now some or all of that may be false, but when multiple people are saying it, the Head Coach is talking in the press about S&C not being good enough I think that is a good enough sign he's been sacked.

Regarding contract lengths, not sure too many other than players and Head Coach have time periods on their contracts, wouldn't be surprised if some senior coaches do, but also wouldn't be surprised if they are on normal contracts with notice periods also.
