New Tigers Shirt

Post by Caerlyr Osprey »

Just scrolling down the Game Plan email for tomorrow's match and hidden away towards the bottom of it is something titled 'Tigers x Dodici Otto' and telling us to head to the club shop tomorrow for a sneak peak of the new jersey.

This has got me intrigued as the name Dodici Otto means absolutely nothing to me. A quick google shows that it's a local design company, that's produced limited edition football shirts for lots of teams including the Foxes. Googling Dodici Otto Leicester returns a link to the club shop https://shop.leicestertigers.com/tigers/2324502200001 and I'm now I'm very interested. Clicking on the link does indeed take me through to the club shop, unfortunately there's no image of this shirt, however it's priced at £140 - ouch.

Will have to see what tomorrow brings.

I hope it's not the club's new shirt for next season - the web page says it is NAVY!

BTW Dodici Otto translates as "Twelve Eight".

A replacement for the pink kit, perhaps. Or a Euro kit.

Potentially some sort of charity kit.

I've seen this shirt (it was in the club shop the other day). Let's just say it's... an 'acquired taste'.

Covered in graffiti and assorted rubbish. I wouldn't pay £14 for it, let alone £140, but each to their own.

£140 for a shirt!?

At the bottom of the club shop page there's a 'You might also like' link to a Tigers doormat, which seems apt. They're walking all over us with those kind of prices.

They specialise in generally limited runs, wouldn’t be surprised if this is like limited to like 50-100

It’s not a club thing it’s a Dodici Otto thing

After seeing the LCFC ‘effort’ the best I can think is, take your own Tigers shirt (any version, no need to buy new) to the local Primary school, get 5 year olds to scribble on it with wax crayons or slop poster paint over it, stick a number on it to justify the ‘Limited Edition’ tag, charge a ridiculous sum of money under the guise of art, expression or community development, placing the finished article in a shop with very big windows so the gullible can be seen coming from miles away….to pay the ridiculous sum of money…..

Might even get a Government / Local authority grant for it.

Interesting below the collar it has #28 of 40

I guess it’s what the company does, I’m not a fan of it but fits what they have done with other sports teams

If your into street art then it might appeal but its not my cup of tea, it also doesn't seem very imaginative with some simple writing and some images with a cutout filter applied (Being a graphic designer ruins a lot of things for you)

I should add I commend the club for doing this though, fashion or brand crossovers are certainly one way of getting new eyes on the club

At least it’s also only a training top.
