Tom Woolstencroft (Sarries 3rd choice hooker behind George and Dan) has announced his immediate retirement from the sport.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Pretty sure it was Diamond who signed himTiglon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 4:49 pmI think his average for Sale is 10 games per season. At Tigers it was more like 12.GB72 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 4:19 pmVery much this, I am just not sure how anyone can see Manu as value for money now. He was not for years for us and he has not been for Sale either. Unless he retires from England, you spend most of the time getting him fit so as he can play a couple of internationals and then come back broken. At his pomp he was something to behold but now I would not sign him on anything more than a squad player salary.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 4:15 pm
Would make sense. And I know there are a lot of Manu fans out there but I’m not sure spending money on an injury prone 33 year old who’ll give you 12 games a season if you’re lucky makes any sense, no matter how good he was in his heyday
Although that must all be nonsense because when Manu signed for Sale Sanderson was very clear that they would keep him fit and he wouldn't miss many games through injury.

Apologies, you're right. He promised that Sale would keep him fit and get 50% more rugby out of him.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 7:13 amPretty sure it was Diamond who signed himTiglon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 4:49 pmI think his average for Sale is 10 games per season. Josh Kemeny, not I name I know, has signed for Northampton from Melbourne rebels.

Seems Bath have signed Jacques du Plessis as he’s undergoing rehab with them.

If he recovers before the end of the season he'll go back and play in South Africa though. Slightly odd one.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 3:05 pm Seems Bath have signed Jacques du Plessis as he’s undergoing rehab with them.
They've also got a young Junior Bok scrum half over ahead of next season as well.

Yeah short term deal to the end of the season. Injury seems to have really knocked back his career since he announced he was making the switch in codes.RunTigerRun wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 7:14 pmAnd Regan Gracesam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 5:04 pmIf he recovers before the end of the season he'll go back and play in South Africa though. Bring Singleton back from his loan in France, promote Seb Blake and retain Socino. Still be harsh on McGuigan unless he's got a deal ready in France.

Freeing up some salary cap for next season aren't they. Hastings is allegedly on a hefty whack and they've already effectively replaced him with Charlie Atkinson at a fraction of the price. LRZ is gone.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 8:52 pmThat's the one. I wouldn't be surprised to hear Glaws linked with some significant names up front to give them a more powerful pack.
