On a positive note Whiteley looks a lot better than Youngs.

Anybody who was thinking we are anything like the finished article have seen just how far off we really are. It is not that we are being beaten by a good team, it is the fact we are so utterly hopeless in attack. How can you go up against a team of thirteen and then make three unforced errors and concede.

Not a snowballs chance in hell until we get some much tougher coaches who are going to beat the hell out of the guys for such an embarrassing performance. We are a laughing stock.
I do not care if your name is Pollard, Brown, Youngs or Martin, you should be cleaning the under18’s boots next week as a punishment for this garbage.

There's just to little in the armoury for Pollard to deploy. The poor crossfield kick was a show of frustration from him. We'd punched ourselves out on the La Rochelle defence.

We desperately need a good attack coach because against most of the good sides we can't bully our way over the gain line and we need more to unleash.

Playing without a jackling openside always makes our defence weaker as well. McKellar needs to wake up to that fact and quickly. Cracknell isn't an openside for us.

The thing is, if we'd actually been capable of taking our chances, we'd be in this game. But the compounding of errors has been a horror show.

Shillcock or Pollard in this game no difference-both error strewn.
Now for Leinster 😩

The 2nd half is just pure capitulation, and frankly aweful.

I understand maybe DMK is not long in and no attack coach etc etc but there always seems to be something with us! And none of this is an excuse for some of the junior level (no actually junior level manage it!) decisions and execution, and sadly it’s not a one off!

Class from Kelly. He's been our best back though really only Simmonds troubled him for that particularly honour.

Another missed conversion from Handre. He really is not on from today or the last few weeks.

DK spares us taking Saints' crown of heaviest cup defeat against La Rochelle.

Much to ponder for DMK. We simply have to be better with the ball. We take our chances, and we're in the game, and that scoreline doesn't snowball away from us.

What did people expect? They are the European champions (and a favourite to retain) with a monster pack and magicians in the backs who targeted this game. And we took an understrength team and a big bag of hope. Blame the RFU and the mismanagement of English rugby - this is what salary cap reductions look like.

But so what? Our prem league place isn’t any worse, I don’t think we played that bad, we get a go at Leinster in front of a home crowd next week, are still in the competition, and the youngsters have just learnt what playing the best feels like.
