JPR Williams
Breaking news that he has passed away at the age of 74
Such tragic news and his passing will be mourned throughout the rugby world.
One of the all time greats

JPR
Very sad to hear the passing of the great JPR Williams. A player of outstanding skill and enormous courage.
Will never forget him charging into the South African pack in 1974 when the 99 call went up, fists at the ready. The personification of a great team.
RIP

One of my boyhood heroes. Well 'ard, in an era of real hard players. RIP
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

Re: JPR Williams
Arguably the best full back of his era (and others) but preferred to play flanker!

I'm a similar age to him and he was a hero to me along with a few others of that generation. I couldn't emulate him though, neither skilful enough or brave enough.

Sure I heard someone once joke he'd pop round the away dressing room with business cards after games... not sure if the person who told me was serious or not...
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.
Re: JPR Williams
As an out and out England fan I'm deeply sorry to see the passing of JPR, he was from a different era of truely great Welsh players and I'm honoured to pay tribute to him and pass on my sympathies to his family and friends.
We will not see another JPR. RIP.

RIP JPR.
Six letters that are very painful for me to write.
Brilliant player. Terrific attitude.
