The young fella on the wing for Exeter is a bit useful.

Exeter keep rolling on. Simple but very effective game plan combined with very aggressive defence.
It’s been mentioned before but I’m sure the job security that Baxter has, much like McCall, must help create a very settled environment in which the players are thriving.
Some very promising youngsters coming through, very shrewd signings, and senior players at the top of their game. An England midfield of Smith, Lawrence and Slade would be good to see

I had not appreciated that Frost, Exeter hooker ex of Wasps was that volatile. He needed to be pulled away 3-4 times. He seemed to then settle a bit. Bristol kept them close until the end but seem to not be able to control their enthusiasm to do the fancy stuff and then get turned over when they needed to ground put a score.

I like Frost, similar to Dann imo, I just think the Bristol boys knew how to wind him up.Offside wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 9:57 am I had not appreciated that Frost, Exeter hooker ex of Wasps was that volatile. Agree about Bristol, without McGinty there isn’t much control

Henry Slade keeps performing week after week, Borthwick must consider bringing him back.

Agreed, but I would play Slade and Lawrence the other way around, at 12 and 13, respectively. The good thing with these two is that they can interchange and keep the opposition guessing.Rugbygramps wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 8:48 am An England midfield of Smith, Lawrence and Slade would be good to see
Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

Wonder how much more time Lam has got left? He isnt a top Coach by any stretch of the imagination. And I wonder if Genge will return to Welford Road?

Nail on head there those 2 could be very interchangeable. One of the only good things Eddie Jones said was that the numbers on the shirts are starting to mean lessNo6_Flanker wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 1:00 pmAgreed, but I would play Slade and Lawrence the other way around, at 12 and 13, respectively. Ellis deep in conversation with Borthwick during the game. Apparently Ellis isn’t due back until just before the 6 nations. Next England skipper maybe.

Sarries get an easy win having rested most players. Earl played 40’.
Saints really have toughened up in the pack and defence.
Very good win v Sale with both teams almost full strength.
