Other matches - 22/23rd December 2023

Post by Rugbygramps »

Some big Premiership clashes which could impact the table.

Falcons v Bears
Sharks v Saracens
Chiefs v Tigers
Gloucester v Saints
Bath v Quins

I’m going for wins for Bears, Saracens, Tigers, Gloucester, Bath, though not very confident on any of them

It will be close. The reason I went Gloucester is they have Hastings, Ackerman and Mercer back

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Sale win 22-20 in a gale. Bristol win 21-13 in Newcastle.

Young Opoku-Fordjour making a real name for himself at tight head for Sale, got 3 penalties against Tom West inside 30 minutes. Can play either side apparently England looking at him as a loose head

Came off the bench and turned the tables on Porter against Leinster last weekend. Doesn't look like a big guy but he's obviously got serious strength and excellent technique for such a young man.

And Sanderson views tighthead as the better option. Club and country working together well.

Tbf I'd say TH is the main opening available. Get him in the squad alongside Cole to teach dark arts...

Is it me or has West gone backwards in the tight since joining Sarries?

Wow, talk about an impact from Opoku-Fordjour!

Has a teenage prop burst onto the scene at such a young age before?

I would agree tighthead is the way forward. That’s Marler, Porter and West that he has given problems in the last few weeks and he’s only 19

Who was the Exeter lad you hardly hear anything about these days?

Painter?
Cheering on the Tigers in Detroit.
Previously a slower, shorter, less good looking version of Tom Croft.

Rather different after 40mins in Llanelli.
To win is not as important as playing with style!
