Probably Tigers have lost faith in him and vice versa and no doubt we shall trouser the cash or offer Wiese more :smt003
I think he's a confidence player who lost his and with Shillcock stepping up we didn't need to build his confidence back up with minutes.

I think we need to make sure Brown is extended as Shillcock is now 10 cover not 15
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Maybe it’s also freeing up cap space to do something else?

I wouldn't be surprised if this move is to allow us to sign Brown for the rest of the year.
That semi final v Sale seems to just sum it up.
Very talented will thrive somewhere else, just not right for each other.

Could do with a centre tbh. Kelly and Kata are not 13's from a defensive POV. Depends how long Scott and Porter are out

If we've let Atkinson go to be able to extend Brown until the end of the season, that's incredibly short sighted.

Leaves us with 2 senior fly halves. Cue one getting injured.

From the comments by RW it sounds more like a salary cap issue - perhaps a desire to keep Brown for the remainder of the season.
CA started well but has dropped down the pecking order.

Brown's contract is up end of this month

Shillcock is no longer our back up 15, instead he is our back up 10.

We need to sign a back up 15 and have a ready made one in need of an extension so hope 2+2 still equals 4.

I also think Brown may be on less than Atkinson who when he joined was along with Fin Smith being discussed as a future England 10 when he joined. It may be enough cap to do more than just extend Brown

Might see Meredith at some point. I suppose we may think it's worth blooding him than persisting with Atkinson, who'll want to be playing more at his age.

Kirean Wilkinson has like 40 games between us and Sale tbf.
Meredith looks interesting prospect.

If Pollard gets a serious injury we would potentially have very good injury space for it.

More likely Atkinson wasn't going to be staying past this season IMO makes sense

Wilkinson is a senior Fly half who has looked at least capable to me to be a bench fly half in the prem.

Meredith is getting better and should be pushing for the odd appearance soon.

Woodward who is also prem level is a 12 who covers 10.

To me this move is incredibly short sited. They must be really confident that pollard has re signed. Because it just doesn’t make sense otherwise.

TH is a concern.

If we have signed an International LH (Hoping Sutherland or Fischetti) that will hopefully cover that problem.

TH though is a major concern of mine really
Cole must only have a season left as starting quality
Heyes isn't progressing as we hoped
Hurd looks good, not sure I would say he is a starter though

De Bruin out of contract at Edinburgh this season, hopefully a target of ours.
International
De Bruin, Cole, Heyes, Hurd

Outside that do you wait another season and potentially try and spend big money on like a Tupou?

TBF even if Pollard hasn't resigned (I think he has another year anyway) is Atkinson based on what we have seen the replacement for him? Shillcock is ahead of him. Atkinson will want more game time and he's just not looked our answer to 10. In a more open gameplan he would prob do a lot better.

Is anyone honestly confident with Atkinson at 10 with Tigers?

Atkinson is off to Gloucester and I wish him all the best. He’s got a lot of talent but has blown hot and cold for us. At his age he has to be playing rugby. That being said there must be something going on at Gloucester because they already have three fly halves in Hastings, Barton and Carreras.

Sadly no he has not realised his undoubted potential at Tigers and we all know of players that have left the club and done precisely that.
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
