Why were Stade given an attacking scrum when they threw a second ball on? If the Ref was trying to be fair giving us the scrum would have been fair

Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

Haven’t seen anything of worth from Watson whilst he’s been at Tigers. Criminal not to continue the chase and allow the guy to come in under the posts
What a day for Vanes.
2nd ball, if that came in from a French staff member that should have been game over, so glad we saw out.
Ref did well, for the most part. Think both sides were getting away with a bit, but at least it allowed the game to flow and nothing major missed. Although didn’t agree with the Atkinson card.
Great win, in any case

Oh it definitely wasn't. Someone on the Stade side playing silly. The Tigers medic on that side was hopping mad. Just seen the replay, they were calling for the fans to throw the ball down from the stands and the Stade member of staff fluffs the catch and it bounces onto the pitch. The Stade official has his back to the pitch so probably doesn't know the maul was going badly.aslongaswebeatsaints wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:37 pm Regardless of that win, that second ball on the pitch needs investigating. That looked like no accident.
Brilliant stuff from Wells and Ilione off the bench. They were both fantastic. Wells possibly man of the match.
Mike Brown should be buying the beers after that deliberate knock on. Really foolish. Definite get out of jail with their player knocking on a perfect kick.
Both young hookers looked good. Heyes and the replacement props all looked solid and did their jobs. Carter is a bit limited in the loose but ran the lineout really well. The centre combination did a lot of good things. Back three was a bit messy with the late changes but Atkinson did a good job.
A lot of positives to take from that. Going away to Paris with a rotated side and getting the win is a real feather in the cap of McKellar. There's more competition for places now which is only good.

A superb result. Really celebrate that win. Wondering why Whitely did a full game (I think?). Wasn't Powell on the bench?

Because they were in possession... in this case, sir was 100% correct.
Who threw it in, however, needs to be looked at!

Wells was brilliant after coming on. Destroyed their maul on several occasions, held the ball up over the line and won us the last turnover as well.
Serious impact

I'm pretty glad Whitely stayed on. Apart from those 2 dreadfull box kicks, he had a good game, and better than Powell would have been IMHO.markharbtiger wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:46 pm A superb result. Really celebrate that win. I thought sir was generally pretty good. Couple of slightly odd calls but he got most of it spot on and let the game flow. A picky ref would have made that game incredibly stop start.
Not sure on the TMO.

Looked more of an accident on the replays TNT showed - fan in the crowd over threw/kicked the ball over the ball boys from up in the stands and it went onto the pitch.
You don’t know if the fan thought it would help and so overshot it deliberately but it would be a hell of a TCup moment if so!

Slightly odd there's so much moaning about a player after such a great win (not just from you). He was the better of our two wingers for starters.
Really good to get Hatherall, Martin and Watson minutes in this game. Shame we didn't have Simmons to come off the bench, hopefully it's not a serious set back for him.

If that second ball got on to the pitch from a Stade ball boy they should be booted out of the competition for blatant cheating. With all the cameras these days it should be easy to determine.

Whatever the origin of that second ball, the timing for us could not have been worse. But, immaterial. Time for a celebratory drink!
