Not seen anything from Rogerson to give me a clue if he's a 6, 7 or 8. Doesn't break the gain line and doesn't jackal.

I like Rogerson - but he’s basically the same sort of player Liebenberg is. A 6 who’s a good allrounder and jumper. Playing them together isn’t the best idea.CrumblingTerrace wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:33 pm Not seen anything from Rogerson to give me a clue if he's a 6, 7 or 8. The whole backrow lacked balance for me today. All good players in their own right but having 2 industrious 6s who can play 8 and a big ball carrying 8 really missed that jackal link man in a typical 7. Can’t help think but with someone like Nicolas Martins in the team when Reffell isn’t fit would be what we need.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:44 pmI like Rogerson - but he’s basically the same sort of player Liebenberg is. Think Ilione needs trusting too. I’d love to see him start vs Saints at 7. Even if Reffell is fit start Tommy on the bench and Emeka at 7. Why not give him a proper fist of it?!

Just got back.
Disappointing but no need to panic.
On a positive note, Tempest finally on Tigers side. Fantastic tackle by him on Dombrant….
For me it looked like the sort of game we have every four years where the players are just back from the World Cup. The players that have played so far try too hard, and the internationals back are not quite used to the systems, made worse by new coach, new systems.
The difference this time is the season is too short.
Biggest positive for me was Brown.

Time is against us and we really need that end of season winning run to start earlier this year! It’s coming, there are good signs it just needs to gel.aslongaswebeatsaints wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:49 pm Just got back.

Brown played well but for me we need either Brown or Steward in the Team not both.
Rotation of those 2 along with Shillcock is mighty depth to have.

I do wonder if the murmurs about a big going round may have some merit.
One thing that pleased me was the parity we maintained at scrum time after Cole went off.

Where has the tightness gone?
Disruption?
New systems?
Loss of confidence?
Loss of focus on basics due to assumptions made by new coaching team?
Or will it all turn round by December?
The quality of player is there.

As another "oldie"I have to agree completely with the above post. Our all round execution is abysmal. Headless chickens come to mind.

You can dress it how you want.. but this season is just not good enough. We’ve gone back to what made us such a big mess in the bad times and singed a lot of average over the mill players. Nothing to get excited For going forward season is now done.

Defence wasn’t great but we all know Quins score tries.
Kata looked good, odd to take him off.
Cronin and Kelly don’t cough up at multiple key moments and that’s a bonus point win.

Handling errors cost us 14 points - Kelly doesn’t drop that pass just before half time we go in ahead. Rogerson/Henderson doesn’t drop 1 metre out ….. 14 point swing right there.
My concern is not sure what our patterns are yet - we definitely looked to stretch them out wide when we got the chance but very rarely did due to handling errors. Big plus was Kata - carried robustly and lovely arc to make the break before the previously mentioned drop.

Why? He was turned often by the Quins kicking where his lack of pace was exploited and others had to cover, notably Kelly doing really well to outpace Lynagh. He contributed little in attack, kicked the ball back poorly and chased ineffectively. Towards the end of the game we dropped Steward back and almost played two fullbacks to negate the space Quins we're finding.
Brown has been a good acquisition for us but today wasn't his day.
