Launchbury isn’t the player he was. Bit more of a lumbering giant now though still good in close quarter situationssam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 10:10 pmLaunchbury's main strength is maul defence. No wonder he has a good time against us. He's not a particularly good jumper though which is probably why they've got Lamb on the blindside (he's a big lump). Hopefully we can get after their lineout and our backrow make their three locks work hard around the pitch.

I guess the playing of 2 full backs reflects injuries/illness with no Hassell-Collins and Kata playing centre. We know Watson is injured.
It might be a ploy to bombard their backs with high bombs and cross field kicks but I doubt this would be plan A against Quins’ back 3. (Unless they are playing Smith at full back but somehow that is not their plan either!

I am confident that we will win this. 20p on my Ladbroke account shows my confidence. It looks like we are going to put constant pressure on them and play the percentages and territory.
Not a fan of Freddie at wing, but I am not a highly paid and knowledgeable coach so I will bow down to what Mr Mckeller decides. Brown will be up for this (even more than normal) so we have some aggression in the backs.
Bring it on.

There is never any points for 2nd place...

Team change with Tommy Reffell out and Rogerson to 7 and Ilione on the bench. Personally would have had Ilione to start as Hanro, Matt and Jasper are all 6/8s but hey.
Wonder if there has been a bug going round this week with the number of drop outs from last week’s 23 even with the internationals back…?!

Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Illione probably still has some exams next week. I think written exams finished for the Nottingham medics this week. It explains why he was not playing initially and did not last week. So something is probably going on in / through the group.

Reffell is in the HIA protocol, Nick Mullins said he took a blow to the head in the warm up/training today

Bit uneasy about our backline, given the opposition. A slow 15, a 14 without top end speed and two 12s in midfield, with a 12/13 on the bench. We have to hope for complete dominance up front.

So offside is being officiated today, only just against us...

We've looked really poor so far. Our defence is non-existent

I really wish ref's would watch players "clearing out" into the defensive line blocking people. Also we are naff defensively

McKeller didn't learn from earlier games, WE NEED A PROPER 7, Illione had to start this with Reffell pulling out

I think Hanro scored, hurt in the act too, Try on field given.
Superb finish if it stands
