Not convinced that Cowan-Dickie is on the England radar any more. Came through young but tailed plateaued a bit short of international level.
McGuigan looked likely a year or two back but I guess his chance has passed.
Charlie Clare has impressed but is he at that level?

Jamie George is probably not going to make the next world cup but it's possible. Creevy is older than George will be but there are fewer hookers in the Argentina set up I guess.

Realistically Borthwick has to back the talent he needs to build a team. The world Cup is a natural watershed and a number will retire.

Some, who may think they should be there, might find they are passed over for younger players with greater potential to develop into a player to fit Borthwick's plan.

Charlie is already 31 (nearly 32) there's not a chance he's playing for England

Cowan Dickie would definitely have been at the World Cup if he was fit.

Without wanting to open old wounds what difference would a fresh off the bench scrummager of his ability made in those last minutes against South Africa.
I do agree like George he is too old moving forward

it may lead to bad results but if someone will be too old in 4 years they should only play for England to cover an injury crisis

IMO not all of the 30 year old plus players will be retired.

Lawes, Youngs already announced, think you can add Marler, Cole , George, Vunipola,
Care, Tuilagi, May to that, then you have Willis, Marchant, Ribbans as they will be in France.

Some and I include Farrell May have another couple of years

with the financial mess Rugby is in its time to allow players in France or URC to play for England stop making clubs overpay for players they don't get for the full season anyway, or bring in centralised contracts and have players placed evenly over the league

Gonna be an interesting few weeks,I’ve no doubt McKellar will be approached. Probably not publically due to legal reasons but there’s ways around these things. I used to think he would go,now I’ve gone the other way. Jones was always going after that disaster although there were many on here that believed he was gonna stay on. Not a chance! He was gone really as soon as they were out,it was a just a case of the legal teams getting together and sorting out the payoff side of things

I have been left a little underwhelmed but it’s a big call this early on. I quite like the fact that mckellar obviously has his standards and you meet them or move on. It’ll be interesting to see who could come in.
