Not arguing,it’s a shocker. But why isn’t Wayne calling it out?

Any team is entitled to mark the sub card as tactical. Whilst he was clearly in some pain, it would mean that he could be considered for a return to play, if the sub hooker were to go down injured. This would avoid uncontested scrums and playing with 14 men. Unlikely he will return but nothing illegal.

But if SA have called it a tactical sub doesn’t that mean if Fourier goes off injured Mbonambi has to come back on and scrummage and they can’t call uncontested?

Shouldn’t it be illegal though if you are injured , you are injured and it’s not tactical

They could change it to injured but that would mean uncontested scrums and playing the remainder of the game with 14 men. By declaring it tactical it gives the medics a chance to try and strap it up.
