I think Steward needs to reinvent himself. He would certainly make a sturdy No 12, and imagine
Brown/ Shillcock
Watson
Kata
Steward
Hassell Collins
Pollard
JVP
SB must be taking note of Hodge and Carpenter, so our problem position in the centres needs resolving . Kelly and Porter seem to have regressed badly.

And on another note, Genge would make a great No 8..

So... i was at the rec. I get invited every year for this fixture by my boss who has a box there... a few things that should cheer us up:

The conditions were awful... no really they were awful. Not just the rain but the pitch... apparently the grass is suffering from some kind of root disease. It is very patchy abd one scrum tears it to pieces.

Our handling didn't look great but when you observed the conditions first hand ... it was to be expected.

We dealt with it better than bath did. Before kick off i was surrounded by hugely confident bath supporters.... by half time they thought it was all over.

I thought (and so did most of them) we always looked like the better team and it always (even though it went down to the last kick) looked like we would win.

A well deserved and well needed win. Shilcock, Claire and Reffell were awesome.... Illione when he came on... brilliant. The scrum did a serious job on bath, first time they have suffered this season so big up to cronin and heyes.

I am well pleased with result and performance.

I can get it via Sky Go. My TNT subscription is now via Sky, though, not BT. When I had the subscription via BT I could watch in the BT player but not via Sky Go. I can also get it via Discovery+ which I get thanks to my Sky subscription.

Thanks for the detailed report. On my one and only visit to Bath it rained, the pitch cut up, and we lost. But I do recall decent beer.

Great result and much needed - I guess we can say there has been progress in each game albeit from an extremely low bar.

It’s obviously going to be an odd season because of the RWC. the likes of Exeter are basically naming their first XV each week whilst we have a team of reserves with a sprinkling of likely starters spread around the paddock.

To win against a very very strong Bath XV is a hell of a result irrespective of RWC and conditions. To do it with (by my reckoning) 5 of our starting pack missing, without our starting half backs and full back (plus maybe Kata would start on the wing too) is some shift and compliments to the squad and staff.

Once we get 8-9 starters back I can see the likes of Kelly and Porter clicking back into the groove and answering some critics.

There will be blips along the way but today was some effort by all concerned

Just rewards, always nice to get an away result.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.
