I think I said some decades back, that I thought this campaign was following the same trajectory as Borthwick et al constructed at Tigers. Lose, boring defence first, boring but adding attack then attacking and an all round game. Now, whether they can lift it higher...?

Will need to improve significantly, even from that performance if they want to compete with France/Boks in the next round.

Thought Itoje missed catches and had handling errors from restarts. I can see Borthwick practicing these.

Dan Cole sadly looks like a competition winner who won a place in the team …something must be wrong with Sinkler and Stuart if Cole played for an hour and did what he did

Sinckler looked to be struggling in the scrum. I actually don't think England have had a top class tight-head since Cole was in his pomp.

Earls, Chessum and Lawes were magnificent in my opinion.

Farrell solid. Showed he’s a great 10 but a poor 12 (though I still think Ford is the better 10).
