First 40 minutes Friday night away. A bit rough already to bemoan that I feel.

Hopefully people will give him more than 40 mins to prove himself!

Tonight it is the players letting each other down, I think, more than the coaching.

I think the game may be gone already, but I hope we get to see something that gives us a bit of hope in the second half. Some decent carries, some decent kicking....just give us something!!

One position where we haven’t had a class operator for a long time is 13. Most sides create a lot of tries via breaks through the middle which causes huge problems for opposition defences and makes gaps for the wingers. When you’ve got wide men like OHC, Watson and Bassett they need plenty of ball which they didn’t get yesterday. Don’t think Porter has the pace and not sure whether Cokasigina defence is good enough. Hopefully this may be a position that McKellar targets for next season.

Honestly I think Scott is class at 13, he's got the all round play. Cuts really dangerous attacking lines, has strength and a good eyes. Solid in defence.

also Kelly and Scott especially seem to be on the same wavelength

I wish Borthwick kept Moroni though

Just a quality pic of two great players
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Hear me out but say if the backline was fit but Kelly got injured would it be worth a try slotting Steward at 12?

9. Youngs
10. Pollard
11. OHC
12. Steward
13. Scott
14. Watson (?)
15. Shillcock

Honestly I would rather Woodward and Porter at 12 but I just rate Shillcock that highly he's got that Alex Goode factor

I think Steward definitely has the ability to play 12 but the biggest issue is you remove his super strength (aerial ability) in that position. It will be tricky to fit OHC, Shilcock, Steward and Watson into the same backline though assuming Watson does stay

Moving Steward to 12 would be a mirror image of George Worth and look how that turned out.

We are not short of centres with Scott, Kelly, Kata, Porter, cusick, Woodward etc so don’t think we need to move our best full back which nullifies his strengths.

One game against Bristol is hardly an accurate judge. Especially since he wasn't partnered with a proper 13 either in Kelly who I feel is certainly an out and out 12.
Also in terms of potential it's a massive gap between the two.

I suspect Raging Bull is on the same substance as the England head coach.
