Haven’t they been using something similar in the shirts for a while.
Sounds like this is a refinement more accurately measuring head acceleration.

Measure over a certain threshold and a mandatory HIA is performed.

If they're going to keep the TMO there also needs to be a flag to them when one of these impacts occurs.

My biggest gripe with the high shot rule is the inconsistency, some missed some not. If the TMO gets a buzz ot notification in a tackle they can review.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

The Match Day Doctors have a team which is reviewing all impacts and pulling players off the field of play when required. Some of these clashes are looked at in the background by the TMO to determine if foul play was the reason.
