Although I’m not that bothered about England(my main concern is that Tigers players don’t get injured) I think we have a group of reasonable players but the game plan is very conservative and doesn’t encourage the players to express themselves. If England had a more balanced system I think there would only be NZ, SA , France and possibly Ireland who are better teams. As it is we just kick it away and make average teams like Wales and Scotland who have a semblance of attack look better than us.

Just something I was interested in and caught today,RWC squads have to be pencilled in by August 21. That’s according to the SA coach

Romain Ntamack is more than likely going to miss the World Cup after having torn cruciate knee ligaments against Scotland. That’s a real blow to French chances and there’ll be much expected of La Rochelle’s Antoine Hastoy and Bordeaux/Bègles’ Mathieu Jalibert. Bleedin’ warm up matches!!

Ntamack is out of the world cup injured.
Used to run around with an 11, 14 or 15 on my back.

Bit of a disaster for the French.

Jalibert and Hastoy are great players, but feels like Ntamack is irreplaceable at crunch time.

Ntamack was indisputably first choice, alongside his club scrum half Dupont, and his deputies are going to have to step up, which I’m sure they will.

Do you have a better source than Ruck and/or the Daily Mail Scott? The Mail article quotes Borthwick as saying the call up for Mitchell is still precautionary, as a response to their story.

I will say unlike like their coverage on other topics where they are unreliable at best, Chris Foy the Mail rugby reporter is well connected and actually pretty reliable so I actually think this is a pretty reliable source

I agree on both Foy and the Daily Mail TFS, but the Mail article Ruck is quoting has a counter quote from Borthwick, saying it’s still precautionary, apparently as a reaction to the Mail running the story. The article you have posted a link to is timed at 10pm last night. So it’s one DM article Vs another DM article…

...to train with the squad. He's not been officially "called up" yet. Interesting only Chris Foy reporting JVP being out; I wonder if he jumped the gun and took a gamble. If it ends up right, then he gets the kudos, if he isn't, everyone will quietly forget about it (a bit like the gamble The Times took publishing the squad a day early).
