Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022
Makes sense, he said he wanted to spend more time closer to his family when he left the Fiji job (who wanted him based in Europe). The NZRU have raided their Super Rugby teams for their head coaches, well the Crusaders, Blues and Hurricanes.
Rob Penney is in at the Crusaders, now Cotter at the Blues. It'll be interesting to see what the Hurricanes do, Boyd is back in NZ now, that would be interesting with the NZRU previously known for their caution in coaching appointments having the most exciting young talent whilst the Super Rugby sides are looking at some of the more experienced and well known names.

JJ leaving Bath for Biarritz (who’s fans are very angry with the management over the earlier announcement of Mohamed haouas - can’t blame them..)

Saints have released their defence coach, which they apparently had.

I wasn't sure they had one. He's been stealing a living for a while now. If they get rid of their scrum coach as well then we'll know they are seriously going for the top spot next season.
[/quote]
They have appointed Lee Radford, formerly at Castleford, as defence coach. Bringing in the RL influence and no doubt hoping to replicate the 'Sinfield effect'.

Luke Cowan-Dickie to Sale. With him and Creevy Sale will be well stocked at hooker.

Is that how far he's fallen? Or is he still not back to his best yet?sam16111986 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 9:11 amTommy Taylor as third choice isn't a bad option either.

He made plenty of appearances (though mostly off the bench) last season but the season just finished he wasn't in the side much (5 starts and 12 appearances). The emergence of Ashman who looks like he'll be a regular international in the near future hampered his game time. The unexpected availability of two international hookers this off season isn't going to help him either though it might mean more game time during international windows.Scott1 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 10:42 amIs that how far he's fallen? Is he still injured. He’s not in the England squad or those listed as being with the squad to rehabTigerFeetSteve wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 12:39 pmThat said I can't see LCD playing much before Christmassam16111986 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 11:51 amHe made plenty of appearances (though mostly off the bench) last season but the season just finished he wasn't in the side much (5 starts and 12 appearances).
